I'm the affectionate type. I love to spoon, hold hands at the movie theater, and will find any excuse possible to cuddle. This doesn't mean that I'm into PDA or that I'm clingy. In fact, I firmly believe that everyone needs whatever their version of "personal space" is met when in a relationship.
I have a good sense of style. When I was considering getting a PhD my dissertation was going to be on how our personal style (clothes, hair, tattoos, accessories) does, in fact, convey a lot about our personality. By the way, I love tattoos. I have a few and will end up with more. Please don't misunderstand and think I'm the judgmental type. I don't care one way or the other what you are wearing. :-)
I conisder myself a spiritual Atheist. Basically what this means is that I'm an Atheist that thinks the Dalai Lama is one of the most amazing people on the planet and that I've seen all the scientific evidence that proves meditation can improve our lives.
I am a parent. I am surprised by how many women consider being a responsible parent a dealbreaker. My daughter is old(er) and doesn't impact my dating life in any way. The fact that I'm a caring father that has raised an amazing kid should be a positive, not a negative. Plus...who says I'll ever want you to meet my kid? ;-) I've been divorced from her mother for over a decade and in that entire time she has only met ONE person I've dated.
I'm really clean; not OCD level...but close.
I believe in healthy living. This means I care about taking care of yourself physically, emotionally, and intellectually-however it works best for you. When I'm living up to my own standards I eat a predominantly vegan diet. Unfortunately, grad school has taken some of the wind out of my sails concerning healthy eating so I eat on the run much more than I would do normally.
I'm liberal and believe that being socially aware is important. I believe in trying to do the right thing all the time, even when it goes against your own self interest.
Other things I love:
Dinner parties, the Alamo, game nights, the drive-in, cooking, food trailers, road trips, spontaneous adventures, days spent driving around taking cool photos, staying active (including adventure races), my pug, my friends, coffee, classic cars, Paris, Amsterdam, Converse, watermelon juice, and witty banter.
