You'll find everything in my life from food to pets, geeky stuff to nature, from cars to friends.
I find playing "Cards Against Humanity" a great way to get to know someone...this should also tell you a lot about my sense of humor.
So, here's the thing: I know most of who I am and where I am going...at least, at this specific moment in time. I know that I am ever changing and evolving, so right now, in this place, I am who I'm supposed to be, where I'm supposed to be, and have let those in my life who need to be in it. And the rest of the journey...well, I know as those notes are given to me on a daily basis. The only thing I don't have, although not required (more wanted), is someone to join me. I'd love to have partner in geek-crime go with me on all of these awesome adventures that I see in my life. I'm a person that will be the most honest person you know and will tell you what you need to hear, rather than what you want to hear...and believe me, having that ability is a blessing and a curse.
I'm extroverted with "once in a while" introverted tendencies; I recharge by being around people - I love interraction friends and people in general and I get a serious kick just sitting and people watching. I'm that guy who has no problem striking up a conversation with someone because you never know what kind of insight they might have or what kind of possible friend they might become. Yet, I do like my own personal down time and sometimes I'm very selfish with it...it's a strange dichotomy.
I enjoy spending time with friends and spending time wandering through Portland - while yes, I'm a Portland native, I grew up in the deserts of Phoenix, and moved back to Portland almost 7 years ago. I like to tinker, fix and rebuild when I can; if it's broken I either fix it or modify it. I play board games with friends, nerd out about movies and music, head out to Geek Trivia, find amazing things while thrift shopping (because I have a +5 to my already amazingly high find skill), reading epic works or short stories...
Here are some of the things I love:
Let's start with a basic need...SLEEP. I love to sleep, but I average about 4 hours a night, so, I love it even more when I DO sleep more than a few hours.
35mm Film Prints
Developing my own film.
Working out / being at the gym - Once upon a time, I weight an astonishing 425 pounds! Well, I don't anymore. I've worked hard to lose over 160 pounds and it's important to me...YOU don't need to workout regularly, but understand it's something I do :)
Farmer's Markets - I've become more of a fan over the past two years while becoming more and more healthy. I recently found I'm gluten sensitive, so rearranging my health choices was needed even more than before.
Exercising - I used to be very obese...and now, I'm not. While still overweight, but not obese, I maintain a healthy lifestyle and hit the gym 4 times a week - I've lost around 160 pounds and I'm still going (Naturally; no surgery, pills, etc...just a lifestyle change)
Long winded conversations that include cider or wine.
Solitude (From time to time)
Photography, specifically film - I began playing with photography before a DSLR was out; I developed my own film and I miss it sometimes. I still have my old Medium format and pro-level film camera's for bigger projects.
Being a geek.
Jazz - Miles Davis, Gene Ammons, Coltrane, etc
Long road trips.
The forest (Moreso than the beach)
The beach (But not as much as the forest)
Calve high boots on a woman.
Doing what you have to do.
Honesty and trust.
An amazing home library.
The printed word in general.
Goodwill / thrift stores
The back patio with my core group of friends.
Touching, tasting, feeling, intimacy and being.
Sex (Well, duh...)
And a lot more.
