I am creative, open-minded, and enigmatic.

My Self-Summary

Some would call me cold, some might label me as odd, and others still might call me a good friend. I have a humor which is often highly sarcastic and dark, and unabashedly able to let out a crude joke. (Given the setting is correct for one). I’m above the lifestyle of many of my peers, and have been for years; the idea of drinking myself into a puking stupor every night holds about as much appeal as slicing myself with paper and taking a lemon-juice bath.

I revel in intelligent conversations and those who can open my mind to new ideas- without the challenge of new thoughts I grow bored. I often have various paints or inks smeared on myself, whether it’s on my face or clothing, due to my artistic passions and my handling of these mediums like a five year old (while I have a fair hand at drawing and painting, I simply cannot do one without making a mess). I love to sketch strangers, and often favor older men and women for this; they stay still and wrinkles have a way about them that very interesting to draw. If I could, I would read more than I do, but I never seem to find the time when class is in session- though I’d still love recommendations on books.

I love to go out, as I get stir-crazy in my room sometimes, and often I escape to barnes and nobles for a hot tea and a litany of new faces to draw. I adore the challenge of putting together a new, cute outfit, and it boosts me high to have someone compliment on it.
I’m always open to hearing the thoughts and ideas of another, and find it’s easier to click with someone you meet via the internet than in person; on the internet it is the power of words, first and foremost, which drives one to enjoy or dislike the other. I can usually tell within a day- sometimes in a singe text!- whether or not I can chemistry with an individual.

What I’m doing with my life

This is a question I wish I could answer; as it is I am unsure, and drifting through various aspects of College to find my niche in society. While I adore the arts, my passions do not run parallel to the areas in which one makes money (graphic design, commercial art) but rather to more independent fine art.

Languages fascinate me endlessly, and I'm excited to take a lecture next term on Linguistics; the topic is one I am hoping to perhaps pursue further. Somewhere down the line I'd hope to travel for a job, see the world, and venture out beyond the corn-fields of Iowa.

I’m really good at

Saying "That's What She Said" at the perfect moment.

The first things people usually notice about me

I'm never assumed to be a nerd, though I am a bit of one.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

My taste in books is wide; A sample of my favorites would include Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov, The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, Kushiel's Legacy by Jacqueline Carey, Q and A by Vikas Swarp, The Picture of Dorian Grey by Oscar Wilde, The Mistborn Triology by Branden Sanderson, The Postsecret Books, Blankets by Craig Thompson, Hairstyles of the Damned and a whole slew of others.

I watch a lot; for TV shows I'm a habitual follower of 30 Rock, The Office, and a few guilty pleasures such as Project Runway and those horrible MTV "challenge" shows I simply cannot turn away from. (Who doesn't enjoy seeing plastic surgery-modified women and inane men from the Real World actually /do/ stuff?)

I'm a mostly vegetarian. Exceptions are made for Chicken. And I'd call myself a Cheese-terian for how much I love cheese.

My music tastes are perhaps the most eclectic of all these categories; with the exception of most Country and Metal/Screamo I will listen to most anything once. At the moment my favorite band is Neutral Milk Hotel, but others up there are Great Lake Swimmers, Laura Marling, The Dresden Dolls, Regina Spektor, Glasvegas, and so on.

The six things I could never do without

My baby blanket (I do not need it with me 24/7, but it's a nice thing to snuggle up to now and then!)
Physical contact
The Internet (Sad, but probably true. Two weeks in Japan with minimal internet was hard enough. A week vacation away is about all I can handle)
My imagination
Cheese
My contacts (I'd be very near blind)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

A lot of things, though on my mind of late has been simply why it's so hard in out society for people to grow and accept things. I'm not against being open about my sexuality but I find it hard at times when it's still, for some ridiculous reason, a taboo subject in our society.

On a typical Friday night I am

Relaxing; either with friends or on the couch with a movie. Sometimes I'll go out, though I prefer to keep things low key- a fancy date is night, but only every once in a while.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm getting my nipples pierced in two weeks.

You should message me if

You're interested in an intelligent, albeit at times creative and artistic (or to some, just strange) girl who's looking for someone to hangout with and enjoy the company of.

I also have AIM, too, and love to talk on it to get to know people better.
