I've spent my share of nights in strange cities, trying the local food and making new, if fleeting, friends. I've spent days hiking through the wilderness with a field guide and a lot of sunscreen. I've driven a tractor all day, and then performed a Beethoven symphony that same evening.

I love what I do and I'm passionate about sharing great music with people, as an audience and as fellow musicians.

When I buy something, I always consider its environmental and social context. I probably spend too much on groceries, and most of my wardrobe is either American/ European made, or from the thrift store.

I like to try new things, and have learned a lot while making my way through home improvement projects, traveling, recipes, and this wonderful world of dating online.

Practicing and performing on the bass.
Teaching a wonderful group of young people about the joyful discipline of classical music, and learning, myself, the whole way.
Grabbing a 6 am cup of coffee on my way to a substitute teaching job.
Working on my home, working on my websites, working out, and having a beer at the end of it.

Skills I've picked up:
As a farm kid: calf pulling, tractor driving, hay bale throwing.
As a musician: goofy dancing, talking to drunk people, playing music.
In general: working a crowd, asking for help, being helpful.

If I'm not careful, I walk like Shaggy from Scooby Doo...This was recently confirmed by a 7th grade clarinet player.

For fiction: Salman Rushdie is a favorite, I've read everything Douglas Coupland has written, and I have read several sci-fi and fantasy series.
I will read any non-fiction book that is put in front of me.

I'm pretty cool with any movie or meal, as long as it's done well. I
have an affinity toward local food sources.

Music: it's gotta be in tune.

Here are some things I really enjoy:

Sunshine, Mozart, beer, nature ( the tv show and the real deal),
hearing and telling jokes, stretching, a reasonable discussion of
politics or theology, Thrift store gems, cheese, and the occasional fast-food taco.

Creating experiences that make people smile, say "aha!", or play Twinkle twinkle little star correctly.

Either on a gig or checking out someone else's, planning the weekend's cooking schedule, or having a beer with some friends.

I sing to my cats and dance in the grocery store.

You can offer a life lesson or book suggestion...you are an expert balderdash player...you want to check out a new place in the Saintly City(or Minneapolis, I travel well)...you love the smell of rosin.
