Music is a huge part of my life. I grew up playing violin, I realized my dream and started playing piano last year, I write words about it, and go to way too many shows.
I’m extremely passionate about food and drink. I love preparing meals for friends and family, and they seem to love it too. I’m not too set on any cuisine, and I like to be a bit adventurous in my preparations, recipe or otherwise. I eat out on a regular basis, and enjoy it so much that I started a “supper club” of sorts, where I gather together a group of great friends every month to try a new restaurant around the city. When it comes to drink, I don’t discriminate, although I’m partial to craft beer (both brewing and drinking it), bourbon, mezcal, gin and wine.
I recently began a regular meditation practice, and it’s changed my life in more ways than I can express. I’ve developed an intuition, an awareness and sense of self that I don’t know that I’ve ever known. Some might say it’s made me emotionally available.
I think Chicago is the best city in the world, but I struggle with a persistent wanderlust that drives me to want to live all over the place. I’m working on devising a plan where I live for a short time in many different cities, so I can always appreciate coming home. On the list are: San Francisco, Phuket, Tokyo, Tel Aviv, Cape Town, Amsterdam, Berlin and London. I’m open to suggestions.
