My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Shrek compared himself to an onion. He has "layers". If that's the case, I'm an orange. Have you ever looked at the internal construction of the orange fruit? Utter chaos. Strands of emotional attachment, detachment, politeness, caring, idealism, argumentative, stubbornness, shyness, awkward affluence and knowledgeable know-it-all smarmy pulp. Best to squeeze me and distill delicious orange juice.

In all seriousness:
Recent college graduate from University of Alabama. Geeky, a little introverted, mild, fun-loving. The little things in life make me smile or laugh. My free time is spent writing fiction (a blend of romance, adventure, and sci-fi/fantasy), or gaming. Occasionally I fit in trips to the library, the anime club, or a family'n'friends football party.

If I visit your profile multiple times, there's a 60% chance that I've forgotten that I've already visited.

On second glance, my OKCupid Personality Tab is actually pretty accurate.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm working a part-time job, making progress on turning it into a full-time job, and in the meantime I'm working on my fiction writing. In the future, I'd prefer to make a living as a novelist, or failing (or even in spite of) that, I'm aiming for an editing, technical writing, or media position.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Writing, video games, making funny faces (apparently).
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm not sure if it's the first thing they notice, but everyone lowballs my age. The average guess is 19 years old.

Movies/Television: Well honestly this needs to be split into Western and Eastern categories.

Western:
The Dark Knight, The Lion King, The Prestige, Gladiator, Saving Private Ryan, Dr. Who, House, Firefly, Stargate, Tailspin, Samurai Jack, Lost, Ally McBeal, Armageddon, Red versus Blue, Malcom in the Middle.

Eastern:
Haruhi Suzumiya, Fullmetal Alchemist, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Gurren Lagann, Tatami Galaxy, FLCL, Bakemonogatari, Kino's Journey, Fairy Tail, Naruto, Katanagatari, Love Hina, Tower of God, Shinsekai Yori, Ouran High School Host Club.

Video Games:
Yoshi's Island, Pokemon, Minecraft, Halo, WoW, Age of Kings, Portal, Advance Wars, Zelda- Majora's Mask, Wind Waker.

Music:
Um... I listen to a lot of different kinds of music, but I hardly know anything about music, whatsoever. Unlike the rest of this list, I can't put together a Top 10 list because it would change every month or so. At the moment listening to Fun and Imagine Dragons. Other perennials are Coldplay, Avantasia, Rise Against, Kung Fu Generation, Yoko Kono, Dragonforce, Video Game and Movie OST's, Chopin, and... eh, this could go on forever.

Sports:
Alabama Crimson Tide, and that's about it. I'd rather play (poorly) any other sport than sit and watch it on tv (especially soccer), but college football is the only one I watch and follow. It helps when one's alma mater has a crazed, society penetrating culture of football, where the sport itself is referred to with religious overtones. And the fact that the Tide is really damn good.

Books:
Lord of the Rings, The Dark Lord of Dirkholm, Catch-22, The Count of Monte Cristo, D-Day, Flags of our Fathers, The Firm, I Robot, Ender's Game, 100 Years of Solitude, The Sphere, Redwall series, Robot Dreams, Pride and Prejudice, An Innocent Man.

If you couldn't tell, I'm kind of an omnivore when it comes to entertainment. If you feel that people should have a particular taste in their media- for instance, one should only like "refined" or "literary" hobbies, or people should stop being elitist and accept popular stuff, or "I only like this kind of music and everything else is trash" - I WILL frustrate you.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1) Creature comforts.
2) An internet connection.
3) NPR
4) Family
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Fictional girlfriends. Fictional breakups. Fictional heartbreaks. What I would do if I were God. What I would rather be doing than what I'm doing at the moment. What I want to do before I die.
Ranking action movie action sequences. Ranking cathartic anime endings. Ranking video game bosses. Ranking Alabama's chances to win a national championship.
Whether or not I want to help humanity, or help humanity destroy itself. Whether or not I want to be a father. Whether or not I'll get enough sleep tonight.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Working.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I write fanfiction. Specifically, a saga-length, coming-of-age/psyche-study of the character of Jasmine, from Pokemon Gold/Silver. Honestly, it's a way for me to unload some sore feelings I built up over my three years at university; using the Pokemon universe is just a convenient way of avoiding having to invent an original setting. The story is currently 350,000 words long. You can read it here: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/8068559/1/Olivine-Romance

*I think everyone should be able to put something here. Even if it's as trivial as your favorite dessert, if that's the most private thing you can say publicly, than so be it. People who say "Well I'm not going to put anything here because that's embarrassing" come off as insecure, insincere, and unwilling to reach out to a potential date.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You'd like to talk about geeky or intellectual things. You have geeky, nerdy, or off-kilter interests. You have quirky, geeky, or deviant tendencies. You're looking for someone interesting, deep, and light-hearted all at the same time. You feel like you're too weird for normal people and too normal for weird people. You're feeling down.

IMPORTANT: No drugs, no smoking. I will not tolerate either of these.
