I'm Eric. I love being around people and telling stories. I'm adventurous and travel as far as I can as often as I can. I'm rarely happier than when I'm in a new place for the first time. DC's museums help fill the gaps.

I like to be spontaneous. I don't thrive on routine: No two days are the same for me, whether working, leading a tour, or out for fun. I'm more into fact than fiction: I feel the best things to learn happened in the real world. More and more, I love reading history. It makes the future even more exciting.

I work for a luxury tourism company in DC and I love my job and this city. Much of my working time is spent organizing and/or giving tours.

I love dogs...animals in general. I like photography and classic rock. I read The Onion a lot. I'm building a photography portfolio (mostly for fun but I do sell some pictures/take commissions).

My party trick is naming the capital of any country.

I read a lot of non-fiction, especially DC- and tourism-related books for my job. Recently I've been studying the National Cathedral and Arlington Cemetery.

Raiders of the Lost Ark (the perfect movie), 300, Pixar movies, Pirates of the Caribbean, Anchorman, Saving Private Ryan, Best in Show. That's a good spread. Plenty more in between.

Community, South Park, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Arrested Development

The Beatles, The Grass Roots, The Guess Who, Led Zeppelin, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Rolling Stones. Classic rock is my default, along with other sixties and seventies music. Also, I love Cake.

Where to go to read. Usually it's the National Gallery of Art or the National Portrait Gallery but I enjoy new, comfortable places. Any suggestions?
