Introductions are always hard, but I'll do my best to make this not too unpleasant. I'm a jack-of-all-trades, and master of none. I'm a tinkerer, a hacker, a thinker, and a fidgeter. I'm a lover, a rationalist, an activist, and a pacifist. I have a sharp mind, but a short attention span.

In other words, your average mainstreamed geek.

I'm a pretty silly guy. I laugh often, and have a deep appreciation for the absurd. I like witty jokes, dumb jokes, and painful puns.

Some of my favorite social interests are theme parks (I have passes to the Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, Sea World, Aquatica, and Busch Gardens), museums, dive bars, live music, and outdoor activities.

You may have noticed something peculiar on my profile in that I list myself as married, and this is true. I've been married since 2004 to my wonderful wife, BunkiBoo. We are happily married and had a wonderful son in 2010. The reason why we are on here is that we are polyamorous, and have been ethically non-monogamous since 2007.

What this means is that we foster multiple relationships in an open and ethical manner. We are able to date, fall in love with, and have sex with other people. Please note that this is not cheating, as we make each other fully aware of our other partners, and even introduce them, and all do things together as our schedules permit. We believe that love and affection are not limited resources that must be hoarded to be preserved, but instead are wonderful gifts that can be given in abundance.

This isn't to say that we are completely idealistic, for while love is an unlimited resource, time and money are not. Since I have a child and maintain three relationships, we need to make sure that we stick to schedules, and negotiate activities. Poly-relationships are a lot of work, but it's worth it.

I'm active in the Orlando Poly community, so if you go to those too, I'll likely see you around, and I'm going to be getting involved in the the Gainesville Trinity community, and I have started the Gainesville Constellation group for people no matter where you are on the ethically non-monogamous spectrum.

In February 2013, I start work for the government doing web development, which means that I can take a picture of a website, and turn it into something that appears in your browser when you type in the URL, including all of the programming stuff for complex sites. I love making things, and programming gives me a way to do that.

I'm also a SysAdmin, and used to work for a small company where I basically handled all of the computers, phones, copiers, etc. Basically if it had a power chord or a battery, I was the guy in charge of it. While I have moved on from this type of work, I certainly intend to keep up the skills.

After years of not paying attention to what I eat, I finally decided to start eating healthy in 2012. In my case healthy is defined by staying away from foods with a high glycemic load. While I have lost weight, I am mostly concerned about maintaining good health.

Family life is very important to me, and I have a wonderful son.

I'm generally very good at fitting in to most social situations. I'm empathetic and diplomatic, and strive to achieve social harmony with the people that are around me.

I'm a great listener. I find it easy to connect with people, and find common ground, and am completely non-judgmental. I share freely, and invite those I talk with to do the same.

I'm also good at finding creative solutions for problems. It may not be pretty, and it may not be permanent, but it will get you by in the mean time.

Puzzles and games. I pride myself on maintaining 3 stars in all Angry Birds stages. I also am a decent Words with Friends player. I'm usually very quick to solve puzzles as well, often intuitively grasping the solution before I even have it fully figured out.

My curly hair and eyes. My eyes are kind of weird in that they seem to shift hue based on what I am wearing and what is surrounding me. Sometimes they look blue, others green or gray.

Music
My music tastes are varied, and I mostly just listen to Pandora when I want to listen to music. I maintain several stations including blues and jazz, heavy metal, techno, alternative, ambient, classical, folk, acapella, reggae, punk, ska, contemporary crooners, nerd-core, and kid's songs

Food
I eat a diet that focuses on a low glycemic load, which basically means that I do not eat foods high in sugar or starches, including rice, pasta, bread, corn potatoes, grains, soda, or juice. This isn't just some fad diet that I am trying. It's basically a diabetic diet. It is my dietary habit. It's been really helpful in improving my health, as I have lost 50 pounds since I started, and I am down to my high school weight.

There are few types of food that I don't like, and even fewer that I am unwilling to try at least once. Some of my favorite dishes are Thai, Indian, and Caribbean, as I enjoy bold flavors.

1) Friends and Family - My relationships are important to me, and I work hard to maintain them.

2) The Internet - The Internet is how I stay connected to those I love whom I don't see every day, and it also serves as a supplementary brain, storing important information, both personal and public.

3) Books - Both a source of information and entertainment. I love getting lost in a good book. I enjoy them as physical paper books, ebooks, and audiobooks.

4) My Victorinox Cybertool 41 - This is my Swiss Army Knife that I carry everywhere, and has most of the tools that I use for daily activities. I've been called "Ever-Ready" and "MacGuiver" by friends and family by always seeming to have a tool they need at a moment's notice. This is just the central piece of my every-day carry kit.

5) My iPhone - This is my connection to the Internet while I am away, and it also allows me to know what the locals know wherever I go, maintain's my calendar, helps me keep in touch with friends and family, allows me to document important events in my life, and provides me other tools (including even as a flashlight).

6) Games - Whether they are video games, board games, puzzles, or role-playing games, I love exercising my mind with a challenge.

My brain is a bit of a mess. I tend to flit from subject to subject all the time. One minute I'll be thinking about my relationships, the next about the latest Zelda game, then cognitive science and rationality, then the beach, and on and on.

I don't have typical Friday nights, but I like to go out with BunkiBoo and/or friends. Lately it's been to social bars and live music.

I was severely bullied as a child. It affected me in a lot of ways, both good and bad. It wrecked my self esteem (which is mostly healed), but gave me a strong sense of justice and capacity for empathy, which has served me well throughout my life since.
