My self-summary
i'm a born and bred bay area kid, and haven't yet found a place i love more than san francisco.

i live by the mantra 'quality over quantity.'

you'll figure out the rest along the way.
What I’m doing with my life
i work for a third party certification body that verifies environmental claims of scientifically proven standards through auditing. i want to leave the world a better place than i found it, and i've been raised to appreciate and respect the environment, so the sustainability field is where my passion lies. best of all, i'm good enough at my job that i don't take work home with me!

and then there's crabbing. i was introduced to crab snaring in late 2008, and as a result my life has forever changed. what is crabbing, you ask? in a nutshell, it's fishing for crab using fishing poles and a snare, which can be done from piers, jetties, or the shore. it's not as productive as taking a boat out to the farallon islands and dropping pots, but if that's all you're after, crabbing is not for you. if you're after spending a day on the beach watching the sun rise/set, getting some exercise, having some beers and bud, getting dirty, and catching dungeness for dinner, well, i think i love you. haha, almost. there's so much more to crabbing...

i've done a good amount of traveling, and it's a passion that was cultivated at a young age. i've seen every state except alaska as a result of family road trips when i was a kid. i plan to see them all again one of these days, now being better able to appreciate the sights (and craft beer!). eventually my teenage angst couldn't handle the family road trips, so i started traveling with friends/alone. i've been to central and south america, canada, sweden, denmark, england, and spain. i hope to see as much of the world as i can before it's all said and done.

my travels developed my interest in photography, and i plan to make the jump to a dslr in the near future. i've got a pipe dream of being a professional photographer one day...

i also enjoy:
shows (aka concerts), camping, watching giants baseball, niners football, warriors basketball, and sharks hockey (in person or dvr-d to ffwd through the commercials), flea markets, thrift stores, trips to home depot, chilling on the couch, 420, gym time, festivals, house parties, spending time with quality people, gaming, and more...
I’m really good at
keeping my word
getting shit done
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
bill bryson's a short history of nearly everything. i don't read as much as i should.

giants baseball, niners football, sharks hockey, and warriors basketball. when there's not a game worth watching on: south park, colbert report, daily show, tosh.o, the league, seinfeld (never gets old!)

clapton, hendrix, beatles, rolling stones, allman brothers, nirvana, rage against the machine, bush, deftones, phoenix, j cole, lupe fiasco, drake, kanye west, b.o.b. bands i love and will be impressed if you know/like: thrice, cursive, thursday, atreyu, immortal technique, glassjaw, at the drive in, alesana, astronautalis, childish gambino, bonobo, ratatat, kendrick lamar, fidlar, circa survive, death from above 1979, dredg, explosions in the sky, mogwai, gotye, head automatica, incubus, jel, lostprophets, m83, oddisee, offspring, palms, small brown bike, team sleep, that's enough for now.

i'll try any food once. favorites: sushi, pizza, burgers

I spend a lot of time thinking about
the next step

nature vs nurture. i'm grateful for the lessons my parents taught me, and for the morals and ethics they instilled in me.

how every element of life that has preceded my existence has occurred throughout time and my ancestry to create the me that is here today.

the disparity between the haves and the have nots. when the levee will break.

the corruption and incompetence prevalent in all branches of government.

how the world will end.

how fucked up the world is, and yet how fucking amazing it is at the same time.

how fortunate i am to be where i am, and where i've been.

how to improve everything.
On a typical Friday night I am
fuck a typical friday night

it's about the who what when. i value and enjoy a relaxing night in as much as a night out.
