My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Moved to Arlington, VA in July 2013 from Chicago. Spent time getting settled into my new job, family time over the holidays, and most recently treated myself to a short vacation. Ready to meet an exceptional woman.

Wanting to share my life with someone special. I'm a museum junkie, love art, hiking, and travel. I'm open to just about anything new and fun.

Seeking a great relationship. Obviously one step at a time, but ultimately am looking for a one-and-only.

For those who follow personality tests, I'm a Myers-Briggs type ENTP.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Getting out in the evenings and on the weekends. Working. Trying to figure out what comes next.

Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.

Turning a phrase
Remembering random trivia
Being amusing
Changing the game
Navigating cities (even ones I'm visiting for the first time)
Lots more stuff... watch this space for more adds as I think of them
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'd say my warmth and approachability -- people generally feel comfortable around me right away. Physically it would have to be my blue eyes.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books: "The Happiness Hypothesis," "Present Moment Awareness," "Freakonomics," "A Whole New Mind," "The Science of God." I gravitate towards books that either help me to understand my own mind or challenge conventional wisdom about the world.

Movies/TV: Lots -- I like comedy, mostly the absurd stuff like "The Office," "Family Guy," "Monty Python," Marx Bros. flicks, etc. I like old classics (Cary Grant,etc.). I'm also a horror buff.

Theater: I don't get to plays very often, but I prefer small stage -- stories that are centered on real life situations.

Music: A little bit of everything. It's the individual song that gets me -- has to be something with passion (in the music or in the words). Genres I probably listen most to are Big Band, Classic Rock, and Adult Alternative.

Food: I'm definitely an omnivore. I enjoy a wide variety of cuisines and love to try out restaurants I've haven't visited yet. I love shrimp, dark chocolate (especially with peanut butter), pasta, broccoli, onions, berries of all kinds -- not all together of course. I like to cook but don't that often. I do make a mean bowl of popcorn.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.

A special woman (well, I could do without, but don't want to)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Why it's so hard to find "the one"... A woman who is:
- balanced (and/or unbalanced) in the same ways I am
- neither arrogant, nor boring
- positive, yet realistic
- recognizes and appreciates her flaws and mine
- capable of opening her heart completely (and receiving that openness from me in return)
- open-minded with regard to the mysteries of the universe (neither atheist, nor religiously dogmatic)
- fun and little wild, but not bat-s__t crazy
- not so jaded by life that she still possesses a glimmer of innocence, a sense of awe, and child-like wonder
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Erasing the work week from my head and gearing up for an enjoyable weekend.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm secretly an alien life form sent to destroy your pathetic little planet, bwahaha...

...not really
