Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Update 3/11/15: In recent times, I've had a number of short-term
dating endeavors and one-and-done wine/coffee dates. All great
people, but none of that all-important chemistry. I'm doing some
soul-searching about what I'm looking for in a long-term partner,
and so I've decided on a new approach to this OKCupid thing. most
significantly, I've changed my "I'm looking for" to "New friends."
While I haven't given up on my dream of finding the love of my
life, right now friendship is more important. If a stronger
connection emerges, it will happen naturally. As to sex, honestly,
without a deeper bond, sex is unsatisfying... so there.
Moved to Arlington, VA in July 2013 from Chicago for a great career
opportunity. I've thrown myself into my work, because I find myself
valued, and because I've been successful in all I've done there.
However as work life settles down, I can use more balance. Ready to
make some exceptional friends.
Wanting to share good times and connect with like-minded people.
I'm a museum junkie, love art, hiking, and travel. I'm open to just
about anything new and fun.

Books: "The Happiness Hypothesis," "Present Moment Awareness,"
"Freakonomics," "A Whole New Mind," "The Science of God." I
gravitate towards books that either help me to understand my own
mind or challenge conventional wisdom about the world.
Movies/TV: Geeky science and history stuff (H2, Science Channel,
etc.), comedy, old classic movies. I'm also a horror buff.
Theater: I don't get to plays very often, but I prefer small stage
-- stories that are centered on real life situations.
Music: A little bit of everything. It's the individual song that
gets me -- has to be something with passion (in the music or in the
words). Genres I probably listen most to are Big Band, Classic
Rock, and Adult Alternative.
Food: I'm definitely an omnivore. I enjoy a wide variety of
cuisines and love to try out restaurants I've haven't visited yet.
I like most anything as long as I can't recognize what it was when
it was alive, or if it's slimy (think ahi tuna or cooked
mushrooms). I love to cook but don't do it often enough. I do make
a mean bowl of popcorn.
