I moved to Chicago from a fairly boring but homey suburban town in Colorado called Parker in order to attend university in the city. I have lived here independently for almost four years now and can say its honestly been a unique experience. There are things I love and things I hate...but that's almost always the case.

I haven't always lived in Colorado or Illinois however. I was born in New York City and spent my youth living in Stamford, Connecticut and I would be lying if I said the east coast didn't rub off on me a little bit i.e. getting excited about sailing season or questioning the legitimacy of a restaurant's seafood.

I'm really into people who know they are in control of their own future and can get excited about it, knowing that the only thing holding them back is the extravagance of their goals. I'm not into people who think the world is out to get them and that it is the fault of other people that they aren't were they want to be. I can accept that sometimes the world isn't fair, because it isn't, but I don't think that the way to solve that is to blame other people or situations. Nothing turns me on more than a woman who wants to take control of her life and become as powerful and successful as she could dream.

I really like hipster girls, but they don't seem to like me because...idk. You will absolutely get a rise out of me if you have a pixie cut and dark glasses.

Looking for work, taking interviews, weeks away from graduating. Trying to remind myself that we work to live, instead of living to work. Reading more, rebuilding opinion, trying to get some of my old hobbies back on track.

Writing, asserting my opinion and cooking...sometimes all at the same time. I have also been known to pick a decent restaurant every now and again.

Possibly my hair? I'm not entirely sure, it's not something I have ever taken the time to think about. Lets go with hair and not pasty complexion.

Books: any historical/political non-fiction that isn't too biased, The Hunger Games, Harry Potter, historical fiction, social commentary/fiction, anything by Tom Wolfe

Movies: any spy movie, any mafia movie, (almost) any science fiction movie, chick flicks with Matthew Mcconaughey, crime dram-eddies, social commentaries, comedies that do not involve Will Farrell, Jim Carrey, Johnny Knoxville or Tyler Perry.

Shows: Star Trek, 30 Rock, Archer, Wilfred, Spaced, Futurama, The League, MST3K, Happy Endings, Frisky Dingo, Weeds,

Music: ROCK 'n ROLL and all of the amazing electric guitar spinoffs therein including heavy metal (most sub-genres), the blues, classic rock, prog rock, ambient rock. Also a big fan of classical piano, specifically Brahms

Food: in order of most highly desired: Indian, Greek, Mexican, Thai, Italian, Sushi, Americana

Having a beer and watching the hockey game (if its fall or winter) or trying to spend a little bit of time outside and exploring the city with a small group of friends.

Any of the above sounds at all appealing. I'm an open book, very easy to get along with and really just want something to do and possibly get close to someone. Also down for just drinking and watching the game or cooking for you.
