My self-summary
Be yourself; everyone else is already taken - Oscar Wilde

Everyone tries so desperately to be different from everyone else that they don't see that being themselves may be much more enticing. I try my best to be myself and not fit in anyone's pattern of who or what I should be. Not that I always succeed, but at least I try.

I have a sense of humor, and with all my original body parts still in working order and a full head of hair. Anything past that, it's difficult to say. I am not one to necessarily go on about myself unless prodded in conversation. Just telling it all here would not give us anything to talk about otherwise.
What I’m doing with my life
I work. Don't we all? I read, I go to movies, look for free music to go listen to and I do geeky things, like fiddle with my computer.
I’m really good at
many things. Actually, probably best labeled a jack of all trades. I'm really good at reading. Problem solving. When I was a designer in the theatre, sometimes I would wander around hardware stores trying to find bits and pieces of things to help solve a problem...like making it rain on stage, or create lightning, and a certain texture. I'm also very good at 'figurin' it out'. Sometimes that means sleeping on it, or walking away from a problem to come back later.
The first things people usually notice about me
My hair? Maybe? I have long hair. I have always had long hair, much to the dismay of my family. But there is a reason. When it gets long enough, I cut it off and donate it to a group that makes wigs for children that have lost their hair through illness.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I hate favorites. The minute I say something is my favorite, something better comes along. I do like old movies, and new movies. All sorts of music. Opera. I was in theatre for 30 years as a designer for scenery and lighting, so that is certainly in my interests. But I try to keep an open mind about things.

BUT. I do not like sushi.
The six things I could never do without
OK...I'll give this one a go...
My daughter although, sadly, I am without her most of the year, she is always in my thoughts and heart.
I can't be without my computer, mainly because it's what I do.
I can't, cannot, will not and will fight tooth and nail over them, be without my books. I love books. I have an e-reader, but i still love books. Nothing like turning a page...
Paper. Yes, tree murderer, I know. but there is something more fulfilling about writing, drawing on paper that can't be satisfied by a computer.
Pencils and pens...see above.
Rocky road ice cream...only because
I spend a lot of time thinking about
thinking. Yes, I know that sounds weird, but one of the things I'm most interested is how people think...not why or what, but how? How do we come to conclusions? What makes our brains work the way they do. I have always been, and still am, interested in artificial intelligence and neural networks and spend time thinking about thinking.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I will tell you later...in private..maybe...if you're nice. And funny. I need funny...
