My self-summary
I'm a down-to-earth, no drama kinda guy who loves the outdoors, beer, bluegrass, and creating art, among other things. I value integrity to self, honesty, and communication.

There's nothing quite like the smell of freshly ground coffee and a new This American Life episode.
What I’m doing with my life
I work as a high school science teacher at a rockin' alternative school up in Ned. Right now, I'm also working as an Interim Director of Religious Education at the UU Church in Boulder. (You should ask me about this if you don't know what it is!)

I like to fix and build bicycles, play my guitar, banjo, or mandolin, craft, homebrew, garden, knit, cook, bake, exercise of some kind, etc. I hope to open a coffeeshop of some type where many parts of the community will want to gather.

I also get deep satisfaction out of challenging myself to grow. Spirituality is very important to me, and I believe all the happiness and wisdom in the world is already inside each of us. Therefore, I meditate fairly often.
I’m really good at
Being honest and open, repairing your bicycle, making beautiful instrumental music, being a teacher, listening to others.

I really love snowboarding, I'm just not super great yet.
The first things people usually notice about me
I would say my beard (when it's long). It can definitely be striking, particularly in the sunlight :) I often get called Amish. Fair warning: If you call me Amish, prepare for an education lesson.

I have a really great smile and laugh! And I love to do both.

Love
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Life, philosophy, my spirit, music, art projects I'd like to do one day, and bringing awareness to the surface.

Why do we spend so much time afraid?
On a typical Friday night I am
It depends. If I'm in for the night, I love a beer, some food and a movie. I also enjoy craft/art nights where I completely indulge myself in a project (most recently being a stuffed dinosaur made out of old sweaters)

If I'm out, I enjoy going to a brewery, seeing a movie, taking a walk, visiting an art gallery, going to a concert, etc. I'm up for a lot. I'm up for parties and dancing as well.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a great dancer, but it takes a lot to get me feeling ok showing it.
