My self-summary
Hey, I'm Euan! I am an easy going, loveable guy. It doesn't take long to get to know me as I am pretty forward with people and don't put up facades. I am a great listener and I am great at being friendly, making good impressions and letting people escape their stress.

I have a geeky side but it isn't something I force on people. If you met me in person you would never tell unless you brought it up first. I am more interested in finding things in common with people and having fun.

I work part time in a bar and have done for almost five years. Before I was kind of shy but working with the public in that capacity can really bring you out of your shell. It has taught me a lot and on many occasions I take charge when things are going wrong and keep everything on track. I am not afraid of people getting in my face and wouldn't back down from that kind of situation. Don't get me wrong though, I am unlikely to actually fight anyone. I prefer to make people see how stupid they are acting themselves.

Outside of work though I find confrontations can be easily avoided most of the time. I make lots of close friends and let people rely on me all the time for advice. I can even help resolve situations between friends and my opinions are always appreciated and knowledgeable. I am quite wise for my age.

I am all about trying new things and encouraging people to do the same and be happy. Life is much more fun to explore if you have a partner in crime.
What I’m doing with my life
My main plan just now is looking at getting back into University next year doing Game Design and Production Management. I am fairly certain I will be successful in this course and hopefully it will take me into a director or producer position. I used to do Digital Interaction Design and found it extremely informative but just not what I wanted to do.

Other than that I am doing a comedy podcast with a couple of friends that has actually came to a quality I can take pride in. Admittedly it is a load of nonsense and targeted mainly at other guys but it is at a level where we have dedicated fans from around the UK even though it is not a large fanbase.

Lastly I am trying my hand at some writing. It is probably not going to be worth anything in the long run but it is a past time just now.
I’m really good at
Picking up skills. I can usually have a good grasp on any subject and talk about it at a high level even if I have little practice in it.

I am an excellent listener and great to talk to about problems. I never give up on people or let them put themselves down.

I also have a great imagination and come up with some good ideas. I like to use design thinking a lot.
The first things people usually notice about me
I look like a quiet person who would be shy but I can get on the same wavelength as anyone else. Even when meeting people who are a bit of a handful and need to be tiptoed around I can make a friendly impression.

OH and I wear t-shirts with tents and tent puns on them. I just started collecting one day, don't ask why. I couldn't tell you. I don't wear them all too often but you would notice over time.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Firstly I am a fan of video games and anime. They are my two favourite past times and it is a pretty huge range of things under them. Chances are if you like either of those we have things in common. Also to clarify, video games does not mean I enjoy sitting playing Call of Duty for hours on end. I prefer to play games that are thought provoking. It isn't that I look down on other games but I am not into the spend days of your life competitive nature.

As for movies, books and music I am afraid I am pretty mainstream in those areas. But I have a wide taste and can appreciate some of the more niche subjects given the chance.

Movies: I really like the new Avengers but who didn't? I also love classic comedies such as Ace Ventura, Bill and Ted and Waynes World to name a few box sets sitting on my shelf. Star Wars and other classics are also a safe bet. And any Studio Ghibli is good. Not seen all of them but I love Spirited Away, Nausicaa, Howls moving castle to name a few.

TV: I loved Heroes when it first came out but lost interest a couple of seasons in. Doctor Who, Dexter, Breaking Bad, Invader Zim, Adventure Time, American Dad and more I can't think of. I have been told I would love Game of Thrones but I have put off watching it a lot.

Music: My favourite band? Hard to say. I really like Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Ash, older Muse, Jimmy Eat World and Daft Punk.
And then lots of obscure stuff. I have to admit I pick up a lot of soundtracks from video games and anime. If you know who Nobuo Uematsu is then I love you.

Food: Chocolate. Bitter not sweet things. And then just anything else. I like to explore my taste buds. Weird fact though. I prefer vegeterian lasagne to beef lasagne. Don't know why but neither come close to my Dads haggis lasagne.
The six things I could never do without
1. Food. I love food. Especially chocolate. Nothing too fancy just good decent stuff. In my opinion eating with friends is a hundred times better than sitting alone with a take away. It isn't really in the spirit of enjoying a meal.

2. Friends. I know it is a bit cliche but it is true. Maybe my friends don't go out and have a good time enough but I have a much bigger social life and social circle than most people I know.

3. My things. Yeah it is kind of selfish but I am a hoarder and also kind of struggling here. I like to have physical things. I am quite adverse to the digital age taking away a lot of physical medias. I guess I take pride in my choice of possessions. But I don't just keep things because they are part of a bigger set. If it isn't worth the time/money/effort I don't want it. I can live with an incomplete set.

I really don't need anything else apart from a decent income. I like to keep it simple.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
People. I have a lot of friends to keep up with and I want to see them all the time. I also reflect a lot on things. But if a friend is having a hard time I am usually focused on helping out.
On a typical Friday night I am
Playing board games with my flatmates. I prefer mucking about and having a laugh rather than going to clubs. I much prefer to drink in bars, socialise and just have a good laugh. Not saying I would turn down dancing after, I do like a good drunken dance. But definitely more a house/flat party kind of guy. I can also end up going to karaoke or a pub quiz when the occasions come around.

Bonus Fact: My favourite Karaoke song is A Little Respect by Erasure
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
At the age of 16 I cross dressed for Halloween. Let my female friends do a proper job of it and went to a party. One of the more hilarious nights of my life seeing as I was pretty dam convincing.
