Bookage: Iain M. Banks, Steven Erikson, Joe Abercrombie, K. J.
Parker, Richard Morgan, Guy Gavriel Kay, etc.
Movies: Princess Bride, Monty Python & the Holy Grail,
Airplane!, anything (foreign or domestic) that's beautiful to look
at, has characters and (bonus points) a plot. Also, at the request
of testosterone, the occasional explosion.
Shows: Not much TV around here. QI, West Wing, Game of Thrones, and
pretty much anything that is documentary-shaped.
Music: Some day, I'll have my own theme music. Until then, I always
have some background music, usually something instrumental. Lately
it's been soundtracks. But I'll happily listen to pretty much
Food: I eat the things that eat veggies. So that's like one step
away from being a vegetarian, or something.
Bonus category: Games: When I feel like vegetating, instead of
watching TV I'll sometimes play a XBox/PS3/Wii game. I don't play
the "let's kill everybody" games; they're not my style. I look for
adventure games with a story, with characters, with choices and
consequences. Recent favourites are Skyrim and the Mass Effect
series; Journey for the PS3 was brilliant.
