My self-summary
Hi, name's Chris. El Khan is a bastardized version of a nickname my friends gave me back in school (El Conquistador).

I have an odd sense of humor that can hold a room's attention. I speak geek well enough: read comics/ graphic novels, enjoy watching and dissecting movies, headbanging sometimes, and game.
What I’m doing with my life
Live alone, full time Pharmacy Technician going on 4 years. Attended IU Bloomington and South Bend before working.

Trying to learn: the Bass, making mead, and sewing things. All of which make life a little more interesting.
I’m really good at
Strategy games, but not chess. Never could get the hang of it. I do some funny jokes and imitations.
I'm surprisingly adept in the kitchen, more than capable of making things from scratch.
I have a healthy competitive streak, I'll more than likely beat you at a game of air hockey.
The first things people usually notice about me
I've been told I look like Silent Bob on more than a few occasions, probably due to the beard.

Personality wise, I might be like some weird fusion of Troy and Abed from Community. Geeky enough to throw out catchphrases and pop culture references, and talk more adult subjects right after.

My good friend while drunk stated "You're a really good friend, but kind of a smartass". So there's that.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'm a cinephile. Studying film made that kind of a necessity. I Like a lot of Asian cinema. Re-watching a lot of my collection in general, not just my Kurosawa and Woo films.

Stateside, guys like Tarantino/Rodriguez or The Three Amigos (Del Toro, Cuaron, Inarittu) really pique my interest. Mel Brooks is a great director too. Blazing Saddles is a must watch movie.

I've been reading more often. A big fan of Stephen King, Mark Twain and HP Lovecraft. Recently finished Paddle Your Own Canoe by Nick Offerman (insanely funny-finished it in less than 4 days), Picture of Dorian Grey and the first 5 Dresden Files books. I'm a bit of a comic guy as well; Preacher (somewhat apprehensive of the planned adaptation on AMC), Hellblazer, Sandman and Deadpool.

Love the BBC for Torchwood, Luther and Doctor Who. AMC for Breaking Bad and Walking Dead, HBO for Game of Thrones and True Blood. Haven is another on my short list. Southland was/is pretty great too. Try to catch Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hello, Ladies. Legit with Jim Jefferies is good too.

I'm a metal guy: Rush, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Megadeth, Judas Priest, Nirvana, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Local H, Mastodon etc. The Mars Volta is a favorite too.

Last few concerts I've been to were Fear Factory, Melvins, Lamb of God, Slayer and Clutch. Clutch was awesome, best show I've seen hands down. Planning on seeing Mastodon play Chicago in May.

I can already play a couple of songs by the Pixies and Black Flag (Six Pack is a great song, love the intro)
The six things I could never do without
A comfortable Bed, Chris Farley sketches (preferably Chippendales or Matt Foley) , Monty Python and the Holy Grail, good sneakers, an MP3 player, and good book to keep my mind occupied.

I like to rephrase the question and ask "What six things would you hate to lose in the case of the Apocalypse?" Makes for good conversation.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Sometimes I wonder if I'll end up like John Cusack in High Fidelity, jaded and bitter dwelling too much on the past and bitching about people's choice in music.

Also random bits of funny or comical thoughts. Listen to routines from Bill Hicks, Carlin, Pryor, Jim Jefferies, Russel Kane and a bunch of others. It helps get through the day.

Also don't agree with the site Robot's assessment on my personality, way off base in my opinion.
On a typical Friday night I am
At work until 7 or later, but I still find a way out of the gloom and into the world. When I do manage to get off I like to go see a movie, or grab a drink with friends.

Unless I'm at home, then I'll probably be watching movies. My Collection is pretty big. Honestly think I own over a 100 movies total.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have read "He's Just Not That Into You", women are just as guilty of the trapping appointed to men in that book.
The movie that made me want to make movies was Leon: The Professional.
Hypothetically, if I were to become a cage fighter my entrance song would be "Children of the Grave" by Black Sabbath.
I can do a Pec Dance.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 20–28
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You can answer me these Questions Three.

What is your Name?
What is your Quest?
What is the Capital of Assyria?

If you want to talk about movies or music or pick my brain.

To be honest, I've lost most faith in this site. The Local H lyrics probably sum it best "That's it, I quit, I don't..........give a shit". Guess I'm just a stubborn fool.
