I am nurturing, quirky, and delightfully crabby.
My Self-Summary
Sooooo I'm Natalie. My name actually isn't "eleanor". So if you IM
me and call me that, I will know you didn't even read the first
blurb of my profile. Anyway. Yeah, I'm Natalie. I love to read,
write and eat. I am big on acceptance/tolerance of every sort of
people. Like, really. I despise it when people make fun of others.
I don't call things "retarded" or "gay" because I think that's just
another mild form of ignorance. Also, I really enjoy proper
punctuation, grammar, spelling, and all of that. I'm mortified
whenever I make a mistake. I mention these all first because these
are the things that probably most define me as a person.
I keep trying to reword the fact that i sort of dislike optimism,
so let's see.....I understand that perky and happy people are
usually the most pure and fun and all that, but for some reason
perkiness has always just irritated me. So I'm a bit cynical. I
still have my hopes and dreams, of course.....but I still have that
negative side to me.
I am also sort of a nerd for a girl. Sort of. I am not very
hardcore. The nerdy things I enjoy are usually of the pop culture
nerd variety (books, movies, TV shows, computer games) as opposed
to knowing much about computers and such. Although I do like to
think I know more than most girls. But I'm probably wrong.
I loooove the Pacific Northwest. I love rain, I love the ocean, and
I love forests. I could only live somewhere with those three
things.
I don't smoke cigarettes, but I do like a toke or two. It's cool if
you do, it's cool if you don't.
I love people who are nerdy, liberal, witty, literate, funny, kind,
and into making out and stuff.
What I’m doing with my life
I had been on the journalism career path, but I dropped out of WWU
about a year ago since it didn't fit right. I'd much rather write
for fun than write with deadlines (I have procrastination issues).
I have the intention of going to school to become a massage
therapist, but right now I'm just working. I feel too young to feel
much pressure about the whole career thing. I should probably get
on that though....
I’m really good at
making sandwiches, sex, backrubs, writing (ish)
The first things people usually notice about me
Either that I'm too quiet or I talk too much. I do both, depending
on the circumstances.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I love books. The Harry Potter series, Pride and Prejudice,
The
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (or anything by D.A.), Lucky,
The Time Traveler's Wife, The Hobbit, Angela's Ashes, anything by
Dave Barry, Star Wars novels (no, I'm not joking), The Da Vinci
Code, My Friend Flicka, A Wrinkle in Time, A Ring of Endless Light,
a bunch of others that I can't remember as I write this.
Movies.....the beatles movies - A Hard Day's Night and Help!, The
Princess Bride, Across the Universe, Sixteen Candles, Star Wars
Episode IV, Spaceballs, Blazing Saddles, LOTR, Little Miss
Sunshine, Sleepless in Seattle, Love Actually, Four Weddings and a
Funeral, The Notebook, Life is Beautiful, Ferris Bueller's Day Off,
Breakfast at Tiffany's, X-Men, The Birdcage, The Virgin Suicides,
500 Days of Summer, Beauty and the Beast
Music......The Beatles, ABBA, Simon and Garfunkel, Arlo Guthrie,
Fleetwood Mac, The Supremes, The Bee Gees, Air, Pink Floyd, Dion,
Queen, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Elton John, The Mamas
and the Papas, Marvin Gaye, Elton John, Dean Martin, Jimmy Buffett,
Heart, UB40, Three Dog Night, Supertramp, Jason Mraz, a bunch of
others...basically I love classic rock and oldies with an
occasional modern favorite.
TV.....The Office, Pushing Daisies, Gilmore girls, Seinfeld, Whose
Line Is It Anyway?, Friends, SNL, Top Chef, Arrested Development,
30 Rock, The Golden Girls, Roswell, Glee, Frasier, Ghost Hunters,
That 70's Show
And I love all food. Except like three or four random things. Which
you will just have to find out.
The six things I could never do without
love, the written word, a computer, food, quirkiness, sex
I spend a lot of time thinking about
love, the meaning of life (42), my future, human relationships,
possible book ideas
On a typical Friday night I am
Either hanging out at home with my cats and a blanket or going out
with a friend or two.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I am a girl who appreciates sex probably almost as much as most
men.
Also, if I have any sort of doubt about whether or not I'm spelling
something correctly online, I immediately open a new tab in firefox
and enter it in the google searchbar at the top to see if it
corrects it for me. Usually I'm just second-guessing myself....but
I like to be sure.
You should message me if
-You are generally pretty awesome.
-We have something (significant) in common
-For some reason you think I sound interesting
-You're not just going through random profiles looking at the
photos and trying to hook up with girls for sex.
-You have actually read everything in my profile and have made it
down the page this far.
