I am ambitious, loyal, and intelligent.
My Self-Summary
I graduated from college a few years ago. College was a great
experience for me, I spent most of it just getting by and slacking
off but I really grew up during my senior year. That last year I
began taking intellectual discussion courses, on social issues,
ethical issues, and things of the like and it really opened me up
in a way I can't really describe. Very much like an epiphany but
without a single moment of clarity or the church music in the
background. Ever since I've been quite a voracious devourer of news
(BBC's a great news source), general knowledge (how did people get
by before Wikipedia?) and random books (Freaknomics was
excellent).
On the career side, I work in a small software development company.
I like the environment, it allows me to wear multiple hats instead
of being stereotyped into a single role, which I find very
stimulating. To be honest, I like the responsibility I've been
given and that's allowed me to prosper.
What I’m doing with my life
I like where things are headed now. My career's progressing fairly
well, I'm able to function largely autonomously and that's
important for me. I have much more in mind for the future though so
I'd like to go to grad school for my MBA.
I’m really good at
various things but to some degree I'm a bit of Jack of all trades
and master of none. I value being well rounded at the expense of
being very good at a few things. I'm a fairly good cook. I'm great
with technology, it's always just made sense to me. I've helped my
parents with various projects around the house over the last few
summers (built a gazebo, retaining wall, swing sets, furniture), so
I've become quite handy.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
My favorite book right now is Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. I'm a
huge first amendment supporter and to have a world where knowledge
and opinions are not only ignored but actively prevented is
philosophically terrifying.
I am Legend by Richard Matheson is a close second because of his
ability to create a world that was utterly realistic. The ending's
absolutely brilliant and says so much about humanity, it's a shame
that people who saw the film will never understand what the book's
really about.
I've also read a fair share of science fiction and fantasy, notably
the Wheel of Time series and several in the Dragonlance line.
On the political side, I really liked Al Franken's books. They were
very funny. I'm glad he was finally granted his seat in
office.
TV:
My favorite genre is drama, so I watch all the TV cop shows and I
just adore Grey's Anatomy. I also love The Daily Show with Jon
Stewart, if it wasn't for them, I wonder if I ever would have
started following politics. Lastly, my favorite comedy is How I Met
Your Mother, which I find to be brilliantly well written.
The six things I could never do without
1. Companionship (I mean this liberally as in friends, family,
colleagues..etc. Kinship is important in itself.)
2. Food - By this I'm talking about genuinely delicious food that
exceeds all your expectations.
3. The Ethicist Podcast (NY Times better not go bankrupt...)
4. The Daily Show with Jon Stewart
5. Entertainment - Movies, sports, comedians, books, etc.
6. Challenges - They make life interesting.

interesting books you would like to share.
