My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I don't really know what to put here. Summing myself is pretty hard because I'm pretty eclectic overall. I think the two most defining things about me are that I'm a very driven person in what I want to do with my life but I also try not to take things too seriously. I figure, if you can't laugh in the face of life, it's gonna be a lot harder to deal with the rough spots. I believe that the three things you need to have a fulfilled life are: necessities for living, service to yourself, and service to others. The first is pretty straightforward, the second I think means making sure you do things to make yourself happy and the third means working to help make other people happier. So that's what I try to do. I make myself happy by laughing, staying healthy, surrounding myself with good people, eating good food, and enjoying various hobbies. I'm going to school so I can learn what I need to help other people. I spent a number of years bouncing around directionless but now that I know what I want to do, I'm very driven to get there. That being said, I'm not gonna kill myself on the journey, I'm gonna make sure I damn well have a good time getting there. I'm basically looking for someone to do that with, someone who also has a direction they are going in and are passionate about something. It doesn't even matter as much to me what they are passionate about, just the fact that they are engaged enough in the world to want to do something is what I like.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I just transferred to poly to study mechanical engineering. I love technology and I think that a smarter use of todays tech and resources could do great things. Aside from school (which I actually quite enjoy because I love what I'm learning), I like to stay pretty busy. I love rock climbing and hiking (so I obviously like bishops a lot). I also like to run and play beach volleyball. I'm a maker at heart so I also like tinkering with projects and fixing things up or taking them apart to see how they work, which is why I'm getting involved in the MakerSpace here in town. But I'm also a pretty big loaf. I do love a day of doing nothing but lounging, eating, and watching movies (I'm a big movie buff) and I like playing video games and board games (one of my favorite activities is to have a group of friends over for a dinner/game night).
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
learning new things actually. I kind of do the jack of all trades, master of none thing. I do like to get into a few things heavily but I tend to pick up new stuff pretty quick and I really just love learning, so that helps.

I'm also a very good joke teller. My brother and I collect good jokes so I have a few great ones.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm not really sure what people notice first about me, so instead I'll say what gets commented on the most. I get a lot of compliments on my smile and how exppressive my face is (I think you can convey a lot using facial expressions and when you're too lazy to respond, they can come in quite handy).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
There is no way to make a complete list, so I will generalize.

Books: I like historical fiction, and I've been getting into contemporary non-fiction recently, mostly neuroscience.

Movies: The Usual Suspects, the Departed, Emporer's New Groove, Young Frankenstein, LotR, In Bruges, Duck Soup, anything with Jackie Chan, anything by Hayao Miyazaki, Serenity, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, The Great Escape, Princess Bride, Tremors, Army of Darkness, ...I could go on for a while.

I don't really watch a lot of TV but I do keep up to date on a few shows. Community, Castle, 30 Rock, Archer, Game of Thrones, Firefly, Newsroom, and Spartacus come to mind.

Music I will listen to most anything. The stuff that I really dig is anything rock, especially classic rock and alt rock. Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Macklemore, Great Big Sea, and The Devil Makes Three are some of my favorites though.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My Family, my friends, laughing, movies, my hands, my car.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Technology actually. I think we're on the cusp of the incredible places technology can go so I think about what we could do with the new tech that's coming out every day.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Unitl recently it was work. Now that I have some free time, I'm not sure, I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I think this is silly. If I'm willing to admit it, it's not private.
