"I am someone who is looking for love. Real love. Ridiculous. Inconvenient. Consuming. Can't live without each other kind of love."
What I’m doing with my life
I am about to complete my master's of public health and am working toward a PhD/MD. I someday hope to practice medicine in rural and developing regions of the world, and would also like to improve access to health care for marginalized populations.
I am passionate about social justice, bikes, health and medicine, and music. In my spare time I like to play/write music, bake, knit, and take care of others.
I’m really good at
The first things people usually notice about me
You tell me...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Zen and Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, the Unbearable Lightness of Being, Nausea (Sarte), Steppenwolf, and the Edible Women (Atwood).
Movies: Another Earth, Perfect Sense, and I Heart Huckabees.
Music: Cat Power, Wintersleep, the Postal Service, Radiohead, Feist, the Weakerthans, Arcade Fire, Bon Iver, Broken Social Scene, Hey Rosetta, Mogwai, and Do Make Say Think.
I love all food
The six things I could never do without
I like to think I'm good at "making do" with little. That said, there are a few things that certainly improve the quality of my life.
In no particular order, these things are:
- My bikes
- The sun
- My computer
- Raw and unyielding wilderness
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The pursuit of happiness vs. the pursuit of meaning, EDS, bikes, and of course food.
On a typical Friday night I am
Biking, climbing, studying, or just being with my partner watching flicks and experimenting with food
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I read one of the Twilight books. It was awful.
