My Self-Summary
As part of a good year in attempting new things, I'm just getting
the lay of the land in my place and a new town. I'd struggle to get
to 100 characters in my describing my thoughts on dating so in
essence, I'll say I'm looking for the new and different and,
paramountly, shaking things up. I'm generally a tad shy, but
getting less so by the day. I like to think I'm good company and
delight in and appreciate that in others. So far, I've managed
forays into baking (corn muffins) and picture hanging (nailing
nails). More of these to come.
I’m really good at
appreciating word choice, remembering A LOT of details, throwing
objects (non-maliciously, like a softball), brainstorming Halloween
costumes, wielding a hot glue gun.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: David Sedaris' body of work, "Sex Drugs and Cocoa Puffs,"the
odd high school assigned reading, working on improving my book
repertoire.
Movies: A League of Their Own, Life is Beautiful, Shawshank Redemption
Music: Beatles and all ancillary productions, Elvis Perkins, David Bowie. XRT has pretty great and informative for me to learn about new bands (not paid to write that). I have an eye toward learning more of music of the now.
Food: Mashed potatoes, pot stickers and caramel apples (in season). I just recently started eating vegetables willingly. Let me know if you have any good vegetable preparation suggestions.

The six things I could never do without
The expected intangibles of family and friends. I wouldn't want to
live in a world without dogs or craft supply stores either.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
New ways to acceptance and peaceful tolerance. Trying to have
patience for loud talkers and slow walkers.
On a typical Friday night I am
Relying on usual haunts with good friends, or being lured to
different parts of the city for shows or events of interest. In
keeping with the rest of my profile, I'm looking to shake this
aspect of life up too. There's a lot more stuff out there to get
into and appreciate than I've previously thought. That goes for
Friday nights and everything.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I chose "dislikes cats" in my details but I am much more allergic
than hateful toward cats. I respect their right to exist, I just
can't touch them.
