My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Figured I should probably update this profile, given that it was two years out of date. The photos are still outta date, but eeeehhh I don't feel like going through the emotional journey that is taking a good selfie. Picture me with longer hair and bags under my eyes with cooler glasses and you basically have the same thing.

With that outta the way, hello! Nice to meet you, maybe. My name's Em, and I don't really know what to put here. I keep thinking of things to say here, but they're already covered in the other sections and I don't want to be redundant, so instead I'm going to write a lot and say absolutely nothing. Stop me if this gets to be too interesting.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working as much as I'm able, so not nearly as much as I'd like. Quietly grumbling about the state of the world. Being afraid of commitment with regard to my hobbies and skills, leading me to become a Renaissance Em. I am okay with this.

In the future, I'm hoping to the social sector. Probably to do with health. Who knows. Alternately I'd be up for overthrowing bourgeoisie scum and distributing their resources to my proletariat brethren. Perhaps I can combine the two? We'll see how it goes.

I also spend way too much of my time talking with friends about fake people? We write together. It's fun.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Cuddling (like A+ level cuddler), sewing crooked seams, eating entire plates of sushi no matter how full, staying up late, telling dad jokes, puns, making horrible faces, projecting my insecurities on to fictional characters, holding myself back from oversharing, screaming about communism to scare off pushy dudes, hollering about communism in general (the hollering part, not so much the information part), baking cakes, petting soft animals, eating the last cookie, hoarding books I won't get around to reading so I feel smarter, being honest, etc.

When it comes to actual skills, I am a jack-of-all-trades, master of none. Although I am getting better at sewing and writing, and my baking is pretty good.

Also I can jam out to New Wave like nobody's business and know all the words to most Duran Duran songs, if that's a thing you're into.
The first things people usually notice about me

Either that I'm really weird and awkward, or that I'm super cute and shy. Really it depends on if I dress up or not! Patriarchy is neat like that.

Both of those things are a problem with me, because I'd like for my first impression to be "omg they could kill me with their left pinkie." Maybe I need to start wearing more leather?

I don't really read a lot of fiction? I prefer to write my own, even if it's bad. Basically I can't find enough fiction out there about queer women that doesn't end with one or both of them dying horribly, so I just make up my own. There's less heartbreak that way. </3

As for TV, Sailor Moon has my heart for life, but only the original series. Sailor Moon Crystal is bad AND IT SHOULD FEEEEEEL BAD. Adventure Time is also great! Other than that, I just... watch gaming LPs on youtube... OTL

I love old musicals and campy 80s movies. I also dig really, really old horror flicks. I'd love new ones, but I get too freaked out from the gore (maybe you can protect me so I can watch some? Hehehe~). There is also a special place in my heart for so-bad-they're-awful movies, like The Room or Cool as Ice. Studio Ghibli movies are the best; Kiki and Whisper never fail to make me cry. ;'(

I have a super eclectic taste in music, but I feel like most people do. I listen to anything from video game soundtracks to hip hop to sad white girl music to electronic to classical to New Wave to anything from the 80s, no matter how trashy.

I like every food. Every single food. I want to C O N S U M E I T A L L

Classic Nintendo is my life, yo. I am also a little addicted to Skyrim, and have a fondness for cheesy JRPGs. Horror games are the coolest, even if they are usually trash! I have a lot of feelings about Castlevania SOTN and Final Fantasy 9. A lot of feelings.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Cuddles from people I want to cuddle, tasty food, a good bra, my hands, the ability to communicate, and the oxford comma.

I can do without capital letters and proper grammar, though.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
If there are spiders hiding in my pillowcase, what makes platformers so addicting, fake people (aka characters), labels, my own inadequacies, etc.

Also food, and how I can many puns I can sneak into everyday conversation. Also how ironic it is that there are like 0 puns on this profile despite me professing my love for puns.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Probably gaming, aka crying about why the dice gods have forsaken me so.

Oh, wait, was this supposed to be where I made you wanna get in on my plans? Shiiiiiiit I done goofed

I once researched the history of men's underwear for the sole purpose of making a bad joke. Did you know that briefs didn't exist for very long before WWII, and that they only became popular because they were more convenient for soldiers? And boxers were only invented in the mid 20s, but never caught on until the 30s for similar reasons? And that until then, men wore flannel shorts and undershirts as undergarments instead?

Well hey, if you didn't, now you do know, because I researched that to make a shitty joke. I don't even remember what it was, but I sure do remember what contained the family jewels back in the day.

At the end of the day, I really don't care if we like the same movies or have the same hobbies! What I'm really looking for is someone who shares my values, and who is respectful. If you truly value things like consent, compassion, empathy, forgiveness, challenging oppression, and self-awareness, we'll probably get along just fine. ...also if you can deal with me ranting about fake people a lot because I do that. A lot. You'll be better off if you also care a lot about fake people.

We could have the exact same taste in everything else, but if you don't share at least most of my core values I'm not too interested in meeting up.
