I'm Ryan. I've traveled a lot in my life. My favorite place I lived was Puerto Rico (my house was right on the beach), and my least favorite was Chicago (waaaay too cold). I love Idaho, but wish we had a beach! I love having such easy access to the mountains here. Not to mention how beautiful it is.

This year at BSU I'm starting my own research project. I'm going to be working with stable isotopes in Merlin feathers. Feel free to ask if you like to talk science!

I love spending time in the outdoors and that really influenced my interests. I like to hunt, fish, camp, hike and ski. I'm a falconer and I hunt with a Red-Tailed Hawk. I trapped her in Illinois in 2009 and have been flying her ever since. We spend a lot of time in the desert chasing jack rabbits. I'd have to say that badgers are my archenemy. I also really like taking our jeep up on the trails in the mountains. There's all kinds of fun stuff to do and see up there. I love coming around a bend and surprising deer on the trails.

Lately I've been doing a lot of reading and research into philosophy, religion and politics. My views are evolving quickly. The 4 philosophy classes I've taken have helped with that! If you like to discuss that kind of stuff, send me a message!

I am a full time wildlife biology student at Boise State. I'm trying to decide if I want to rush and be done in 2 years and move on to a masters or if I want to take a semester or year abroad. After I get my degrees, I would like to go to Africa or Asia and work as a wildlife biologist or teach English.

I'm constantly smiling and laughing which is usually contagious. I'm pretty tall, and people tend to notice that too.

Books: A Song Of Ice and Fire, Calvin and Hobbes, Treasure Island, anything by Tolkien, Bernard Cornwell, Vince Flynn, Sword of Truth. The Odyssey, Ernest Hemingway ....but I'll read just about anything. Currently reading The God Delusion, The Origin of Species, and a couple of photography books.

Movies: Serenity, Animal House, Gone in 60 Seconds, Crocodile Dundee, The Good The Bad and The Ugly, Coyote Ugly, James Bond

TV Shows: Firefly, Burn Notice, The Big Bang Theory, Falling Skies, America The Wild, Bones. And, I just started Dr. Who.

Food: Indian is my favorite. I like Mexican a lot too.

I spend a lot of time thinking about science and politics. They're a couple of my favorite subjects. I also wonder how long I'd survive if aliens decided to come to Earth...

I also really love wildlife and animals. Biology is what I've decided to do with my life, and after a trip to Africa, I decided that I want to move there and work for a while. So, I spend a lot of time animal watching and doing wildlife photography.
