My self-summary
When faced with decisions of import I often ask myself, "Self, What would Larry David do?" And a lifetime of adherence to the social contract has been my reward!

I like to be active: beach walks, park runs, hikes up in Marin, and rage-running at a wall on a silly machine at the gym are all things I enjoy. I'm determined to become a little old lady one day, and man, you gotta stay healthy to get to live that long.
I also enjoy brown liquor, garlic fries, Tapatio and SyFy Original movies, but for whatever reason these things do not make me feel great unless taken in moderation.
What I’m doing with my life
What am I doing with my life?! Good gods, you sound like my parents. I'll be the proud owner of an MA in English literature in May; my thesis and the various plans I have to take over the world using only Shakespearean genital puns (early modern drama is mostly vagina jokes) and my ability to decline nouns in Latin occupy most of my time. Ya know. Same stuff most girls are doing. I tutor part-time to support my cardigan addiction, and I often blow my weekly grocery budget at Green Apple.
I’m really good at
making lasagne, recalling tons of useless trivia for pub quiz nights, killing house plants, remembering birthdays, loading a dishwasher, wearing my bossy pants
The first things people usually notice about me
That I kinda look someone getting a Master's degree in English, or a librarian. What can I say? I need the glasses to see, and cardigans are quite simply the finest piece of raiment yet to be crafted by human hands. And I've been told my junk to trunk ratio is impressive.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Atonement, Midnight's Children, Tracks, Where the Air Is Clear, As I Lay Dying, The Crying of Lot 49, Pale Fire, Moby Dick, and Beloved number amongst my favorite novels. Admittedly, I occasionally re-read parts of Paradise Lost for fun. And I would love to replace occasionally with frequently. Keats is my favorite of the Romantics. I also read a fair amount of nonfiction in my "spare" time: theory, history, etc. I will probably ruin our first date by going on and on about Milton. I know, I'm an asshole.

Movies: The Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic, Donnie Darko, Velvet Goldmine, Frida, Trainspotting, Pleasantville, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, La Vie en Rose, Midnight in Paris, and Jurassic Park (duh). I also invented a Pacific Rim drinking game with a friend of mine.

Shows: I don't have a TV, but these are the things I miss about it: Dexter, Mad Men, Game of Thrones, 30 Rock, Treme, Boardwalk Empire, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Parks and Rec.

Music: Radiohead, The Arcade Fire, Belle & Sebastian, Bob Dylan, Damien Rice, REM, Steve Earle, Pulp, Gillian Welch, The Rolling Stones. I'm more likely to be listening to classical KDFC than anything else, though. It helps me study. It keeps me calm and intellectually stimulated at the same time. The bluegrass festival is like fucking Christmas morning to me.

Food: I'm not a picky eater (and have a relatively low tolerance for adults that are), but i go absolutely bananas for Mexican, Thai, or Italian.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
How my choices impact the people & the world around me. I also think about cheese. A LOT.
On a typical Friday night I am
My ideal Friday night is starting to look more and more like a few good friends, sharing a home-cooked meal and plenty of good wine, board games, and pie. There should definitely be pie. But I haven't hung up my dancin' shoes just yet.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Sometimes I wish that Jurassic Park was real.
You should message me if
you also enjoy cheese, booze, words, and dinosaurs, and you won't feel emasculated when I buy a round of drinks.

you have free time during the day for a coffee, walk in the park, museum, etc. I'm on semester break until 1/25/16 and I'd like to make the most of it.

you're looking for something in-between a lame, casual hook-up and a full-on relationship. Anybody? What if "friends with benefits" actually meant someone you genuinely enjoy hanging out with as friends AND someone you get to see naked?
