My self-summary
I'm sarcastic, dry, and find amusement at most things in life. I like the ridiculous and the absurd because it confounds me at times.

I'd classify myself as a negative optimist. People know where they stand with me as I buy into directness and honesty. I'm almost always open-minded about things unless it's harming someone or infringing on other's rights. I can't get behind that.

If I'm going to do something, I'm going to do it well... or at least attempt to.
What I’m doing with my life
I like experiencing different kinds of things and the variety that exists in life, so I'm working on trying out new things. This is relatively easy since I've been in DC less than a year, and I'm still exploring what the area has to offer.

A significant portion of my free time is spent training for triathlons. I've got a June half-ironman and a November Ironman in the plans for 2013 along with other smaller races. Yes, I am a little insane and also a masochist. But despite the amount of time and effort I'm putting into training, I'm really not a jock. I'm slow at running, biking and swimming, but I can go forever so long distance is this year's challenge.

For work, I'm a volunteer coordinator. I love it, since I can talk to people as much as I like and also spend a good amount of time playing around with databases, procedures, and other office admin.

Other interests/hobbies/whatevers: board games, knitting, reading, snarking, going out for drinks, hiking, museums, and wandering/exploring. I love trying to get lost and sometimes I even succeed.
I’m really good at
Procrastinating, sleeping, board games, typos, making cheesecake, navigation, corn mazes.

I'm also really good at doing things passionately, and I am a force to be reckoned with when I put my mind to something. This can result in failures of epic proportions but I'm pretty good at going along the flow. Flexibility and adaptability are key.
The first things people usually notice about me
My smile or my tattoo depending on where one is looking.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: The Alchemist has been a favorite of mine since college. Mostly these days I'm reading non-fiction about something I'm interested in, and a lot of blogs.
Shows: Firefly, Dr. Who, How I Met Your Mother (the first few seasons especially), Graham Norton Show, Wonderfalls, other stuff.
Music: I don't listen to music a ton. I love stuff from the late 90s as that's when I actually listened to a lot of music, but I enjoy listening to pretty much anything, given my mood.
Food: BBQ, Greek, Turkish, Ethiopian, Mexican, Lebanese, Moroccan pizza, vegetables any way I can get em. Also, anything spicy. If I'm not crying, it's not hot enough.
The six things I could never do without
1). My friends (cuz they're awesome people and make me a better person)
2.) Brunch (oh, delicious brunch, I could eat you for every meal, no lies. I don't get you often, but when I do...mmmm)
3. Good beer (stouts, extremely hoppy things, and wheat beers are my fave)
4. Exercise (for the endorphins and the fact that I get to play!! Outside!!)
5. Sleep (and sleep to excess is even better!)
6. Coffee (it is warm, and delicious, but mostly warm... and the smell makes me happy.)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where is my [keys, phone, mind, coffee]?!?
Why does the public transportation here suck so much?
Iguanas, cats and dogs and why I should/shouldn't own them.
Oh god, why did I decide to do this? (usually related to triathlons)
On a typical Friday night I am
Depends on the week: going out of town to see friends, sometimes being a grown up and getting shit done around the house so I can get up far too early on Saturday, or on the opposite end of the spectrum going out to the club and staying up far too late and getting into the best kinds of trouble if I'm lucky.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm more of a flake than I'd like to fess up to, and also probably much more of a hipster than I consider myself as well.
I’m looking for
  • Everybody
  • Ages 28–40
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
You're guy or girl looking for friends! I like meeting new people, and unfortunately know very few people who I don't work or train with. But if you want a slow running or cycling partner- I'm your lady.

You're a guy who is cool with me being in a long-term, long-distance primary relationship with LateMC, and you aren't looking for a primary.

You can take what you dish out, you aren't intimidated by a strong personality, and/or if you're also looking for someone to explore around town with.

If you send me a generic or form letter, rest assured I won't respond. For serious.
