I am artistic, passionate, and funny.

My Self-Summary

My name is Erik and I'm currently double majoring (Art and Comp. Sci.) at UW-Madison. I work for the Chemistry Department doing tech support and web development. I like drawing, painting, programming, 3d modeling, coffee, movies, Linux, video games, dancing, long walks, and virtually all music. I'm very whimsical in nature, but passionate toward the people and goals that matter to me.

I have one piercing and one tattoo. I may get more tattoos eventually. My tattoo would take an hour to explain but suffice it to say it's quite intricate, tasteful, and wraps around my right forearm.

I don't take a lot of things seriously, but when something important is on the line I make a clear decision and stick to it. To that end, I try to be open and honest about my thoughts, feelings, and intentions. I don't like tugging heartstrings or having mine tugged either. As far as OkCupid goes, I would like to find somebody who isn't afraid to commit to a relationship if they think it's worth it. That said, I'm very easy going and more than happy to just be friends with people. Don't hesitate to throw a message my way.

What I’m doing with my life

I want to finish my undergraduate degrees in Art and Comp. Sci. and live/work in the Madison area for a couple years. I should graduate Spring 2010. Ultimately, my interests in film and electronic entertainment may take me out of Wisconsin, but it's hard to say.

I work for the University of Wisconsin - Madison Chemistry Department doing tech support and web development. I've been there 2 years which has provided me tons of experience with a wide variety of computer based tasks, and expanded my skill set greatly. My job rocks and it'll help me get a well paying one in the future.

Other Quick Snippets About Me
=======================

I like coffee... a lot. I'm very weird. I like people who at least try to think for themselves. I read XKCD, and Penny Arcade a lot. I love Linux. I like to walk in the rain. I like making random cool things that sometimes serve practical purposes. When I listen to music while I'm going somewhere I walk in time to the rhythm... I usually walk very fast because of this. I have an eight foot tall artificial palm tree near the headboard of my bed with pink flamingo lights. I'm a manly man. I'm an Eagle Scout who made blankets for homeless children. When I watch corporate media I lose more faith in humanity. If I could, I would get degrees in everything. Humility is an important thing to have. I like to zone out and daydream a lot. I like seeing older couples yelling at each other because it means they actually have an investment in each other and love isn't all bullshit and riddles. I sometimes recite passages from Hamlet in public because: a) I can and b) the reactions I get are hilarious. I like to rock out in elevators when I'm by myself and act normal when I get to the floor I'm going to. That's all for now.

The six things I could never do without

Pen
Paper
Cell Phone
Internet
Music
Coffee

I spend a lot of time thinking about

The meaning of life. I got it once, but then it turned out I was thinking about the life of a squirrel.

Also, what it is to be alive. Computer science raises a lot of questions in this whole area.

Beyond that, not terribly important things. More like random thoughts that fill my head 90% of the time.

On a typical Friday night I am

Usually being a geek and playing with friends online, or visiting with them at a bar or other local venue.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I like to play World of Warcraft but I'm not addicted to it or anything. Don't hold it against me.
