I am quite a cautious person when it comes to my social life, and particularly relationships, but am trying to be more assertive in this area. I would though still leave the next move up to the lady once I've messaged them, so I don't come across as a bit too eager and give them the space to make the right decision for them.
I like sport, watching films, drama of many sorts and science fiction. I also like a good laugh, such as watching sitcoms (mainly classics like "The Good Life", "Frasier" or "Everybody Loves Raymond", but I'll watch anything that makes me laugh (my favourite comedian is Jack Dee). I am enthusiastic about my profession - engineering, and the good that it can do for the world.
I'm slowly getting back my fitness following long-term back problems, and like to walk/hike, swim occasionally and go cycling when the weather's fine.
I also help my local community by volunteering to be a director on my local residents' association (since 2007), hopefully bringing some of my knowledge from work to help improve the housing development where I live.
As an 80s man, I like music mainly from that era, or similar modern stuff, but I like orchestral music as I find it relaxing - and particularly like film scores.
I love Chinese and Italian food, and especially spaghetti bolognese - I would have no trouble eating it every day! I would like try try new cuisines, as long as I can find something that's mild (I'm not a fan of spicy food).
I'm not an avid book reader, but amongst the trekkie books (passing the time on the train to work), I try and broaden my horizons with classical literature form time to time, which I got into by watching period dramas on TV (e.g. Pride & Prejudice).
A computer (for work and home)
My car (essential for work, great for visiting people and holidays)
Branston pickle (great with cheese!)
My ductulator (for my job)
Sci-Fi on TV (I won't make you watch it if you hate that sort of stuff)
(I was going to say "air", but that would make 7!)
Improving myself and my life, my firm and being happier.
