My self-summary
"Can't believe how strange it is to be anything at all."

I kinda hate introducing myself, so a philosophical quote from a somewhat obscure musician will have to do. I have always loved these words though. And I apologize in advance for my lack of brevity.

My passion is music, for many years as just a consumer, but recently I've found myself on the other side of the dynamic. I can't claim to be much of a musician (I play a little guitar, and very recently have taken up piano and songwriting classes), but I now go to school for, and have immersed myself in the world of, music production. I find sound and the way we perceive it fascinating, and hope that the work I do in crafting music will inspire others to feel the same. I also believe strongly in the power music and other arts have to change the world, in ways more personal and meaningful than almost anything else. I want nothing more than to be a part of something greater than myself that brings about a positive impact on this planet and everyone in it.

While that describes my current work/studies, prior to this I had been a psychology and then a philosophy major (4 schools in 5 years to get a 2 year degree...not what I had in mind, but I couldn't be happier with where I am). I still enjoy those topics, and just about everything else, especially when it comes to human beings connecting with one another, and our capacity to do great things.

As of this coming summer, I hope to get an apartment in or near Philadelphia. I've always wanted to live in the city, and while I don't believe it'll be anything near my final destination, I'd feel remiss if I passed up the chance. I also love traveling, and while my experience outside of the country is limited (I do think London is the greatest place I've ever been, and it's not that close), I've seen over half the states here at home. One day I hope to embark on the "great American road-trip" out to the west coast and back. If that's a dream of yours too, let me know, and maybe we can start making plans ;)

Lastly, while most people I know find it antithetical to everything else about me, I feel I should mention I'm a somewhat serious fan of all the Philly sports teams (as well as a math nerd about stats), especially the Phillies and baseball in general. If that sounds like you too, awesome! If not, just disregard this paragraph, as none of my current friends care either, so I just keep it to myself most of the time. I promise it won't ever get in the way.
What I’m doing with my life
I took an odd path to get here, but I'm currently studying audio production with the intent of working in the music industry as an engineer/producer and hopefully one day owning my own studio. It's a bit of a risk, but it feels really great to be doing something you know you will love for the rest of your life.

I also work at Wegmans, because being a student with no money sucks..
I’m really good at
Making people laugh. I mean, I know everyone thinks that, but I promise, I'm at least above average!
Deep conversations as well as ridiculously not-deep conversations.
Over-thinking questionnaires.
Making Mix CDs.
Being your friend, maybe?
Driving stick-shift, finally.
The first things people usually notice about me
These days? My purpleish, blueish, greenish hair (soon to be just purple again, I think). Other than that, I think it depends. Hopefully good things.

Edit: Wound up teal. Like it better, actually. Still the first thing anyone's gonna notice.

The six things I could never do without
My music (mostly Spotify now, it's the greatest ever)
My e-cigarettes (otherwise I'd be right back to a pack a day..)
My friends
The Phillies
Coffee
My mild (but endearing!) insanity
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Everything. Oh god, everything, all of the time. Too much damn thinking.
Narrowed down though: music (there's a theme here), philosophy, the world, how the world could be much better, the simultaneously incredible and frustrating nature of humanity, how to make a positive and lasting mark in one's life, science fiction/progress, the potential robot apocalypse..ok, that's enough, starting to get out of hand there.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I get weird and wordy when told to talk about myself. Perhaps that's rather self-apparent.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 20–27
  • Near me
  • For new friends, short-term dating, casual sex
You should message me if
You read this whole thing. Damn, that got long winded.

You enjoy talking about anything and everything for hours on end.
You consider grabbing coffee and pointing out all the hipsters in the cafe while fully aware of the irony of the situation a fun time.
You think seeing live music is basically a religious experience (and a good place for a date).
You want to make an awesome new friend.
