Hi, I'm Ian, and this is a brief introduction to my life.

Overall, I value the following things:

friendship, family, finances, fitness

Now, encase the entire thing with a layer of kindness, gratitude, and humor. Then surround that with a great love of humanity and the human connection--I saw someone else say this, and it fits me well enough to quote verbatim: "I am warmly interested in others. I am hurt by indifference and don't understand unkindness."

I love doing these things:
Playing basketball
Reading
Watching movies
Telling and listening to stories

Making music (silly fake songs, singing, drumming)
Going on long country drives
Traveling (especially couchsurfing)

What I'm looking for:
A partner in endeavors both silly and ambitious.

Trying to have that feeling of "I wouldn't be anywhere but where I am right now" as often as possible. I do a pretty good job of that.

Listening, being thankful, making people laugh, finding excitement in the little things.

I'm smiling my butt off and gesturing emphatically.

Music: If it sounds good, I'll listen to it. I'll probably also sing along with it and play air instruments with it. And dance - I love to dance.

Favorite TV Shows: Two of my all-time favorite shows are Mystery Science Theater 3000 and The Wire. This says a lot about my personality.

Food: I eat everything but licorice. I love trying new restaurants.

Drink: Lots and lots of water. Also beer, red wine, gin, and coffee. Not much soda.

Favorite Movies: Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, The Shawshank Redemption, The Professional, The Bourne Trilogy, The Princess Bride, 28 Days Later, Man on Fire, Scott Pilgrim Versus the World, The Usual Suspects, Zoolander, Good Will Hunting, UP, In Bruges

Favorite Books: American Gods, Snow Crash, Catch-22, The Fountainhead, A Farewell to Arms, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Breakfast of Champions and anything Vonnegut, Watchers and anything Koontz, The Stand and anything King, The Elvis Cole novels by Robert Crais, the Jack Reacher novels by Lee Child, The Hot Zone, Ender's Game and other Orson Scott Card (even though he's a bigot)
