My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
How does one encapsulate a lifetime of experiences and shades of personality into a paragraph or two on a web site without sounding like a cliché? Well, you can rest assured that I am not a cliché, I am just me. I am here with no expectations, just hopes.

I am happy about what I am and where I am going in life, but having someone to share the good times with, and for us to tell each other 'it'll be ok' in the bad times would be nice.

To keep my sanity I love to cycle and go hiking. Plus I'm quite keen on photography.

Many years ago I asked someone that had been in a very long happy marriage what the secret was, and he said in a very matter of fact way "Marry a woman smarter than you". That resonated with me. Really, it did...and still does.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I think the thing that drives me the most is learning about, and experiencing, the world. This may be from travel, or reading non-fiction, or watching documentaries.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Cycling through rush hour traffic without getting myself killed...well, so far, so good! And...umm..wiggling my ears.

I often get told I have really blue maybe that? Or I am often told I have a kind face.....

I read a lot...I've been called a chain reader and I was deeply flattered at that description. I read a lot of non fiction. Richard Dawkins, Jared Diamond, Antony Beevor, Simon Singh, Nick Lane are all must reads. Plus I think if Bill Bryson was supreme ruler of this planet then the world would be a better place...or maybe not.

Movies? Baraka and Samsara above all else. I do tend to go for arthouse movies with a bit of thought and intelligence. I am very much a fan of directors rather than actors (Herzog, Jeunet, Coens, Kubrick, Lean, Wong Kar Wei, Park Chan Wook, Refn, both Andersons). I sometimes watch brain dead Hollywood cheese when the mood takes me.

Music? Love it, it is my life blood...more than anything. I have an insatiable appetite to hear new music. Prefer anything with a longer shelf life than dairy products. Lately listening to Sufjan Stevens, Lemon Jelly, Rammstein, Holy F***, The F*** Buttons, Shihad, Xela, Ministry, The Orb, Johnny Cash, Swans, Craig Leon, Mr Bungle, Nine Inch Nails, Scott Walker, Yoko Ono and Underworld...

TV? Documentaries mainly...especially Attenborough, Brian Cox, Iain Stewart. Overjoyed Fargo is back. Breaking Bad & Top Gear I miss you! After resisting for years I succumbed to GoT and it hooked me. True Detective Series 1 was great, Series 2 was not.

Food...yum...especially anything with chili (I like it hot, even to the point where I'll need to shove the toilet paper in the fridge to get things cooling down the next morning....) and anything with caramel in or on it.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My bicycle, ipod, arms, legs, torso, head.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The curious enemy rating here. Will I ever find my 100% enemy here? Out of sheer curiousity I would love to meet her if I did, or maybe it would herald the end of the universe if we did...hmmmm....or would we just both implode?

Another thing, why do ladies like taking selfies sitting in their car?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!

If you feel like it...You also understand that the most important thing in a relationship is being happy with each other and enjoying each other's company, rather than meeting a long list of requirements of what the other person should be.

Thanks for stopping by and keep on the sunny side of life.
