My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am a professional woman who left a 32 year marriage about a year and a half ago, with 2 well-launched wonderful adult daughters.
By the way, my name here comes from the kick-butt character in the Lord of the Rings - she's like my alter-ego
(Strong, independent, but still looking-for-love heroine)
And, I've used that name whenever I've performed, so I do answer to it almost as readily as my "real" name.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Well, I used to practice medicine (yeah, that's true) but I don't anymore - now I'm doing full time medical education.
I kinda hate to mention that right up front, because it makes me sound way more serious and intellectual than I really am - but I do have that side to me as well (hidden underneath the fun).
I'm looking for someone who is young at heart, has a good sense of humor, and is fun to be around.
Sweetness and kindness are also important, as is the willingness to be emotionally open.
I also value a man who is intelligent, well-educated, and articulate.
I want someone who makes me smile and who is willing to go places and do things together - concerts, shows, day trips...
I'm ready for a relationship again, or just a friend to enjoy life with...
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm really good at being in front of an audience - I feel that the work I do as a medical educator is a little like keeping people's attention with stand-up comedy (but I'm nowhere NEAR that funny)
I really love music - both classical (sing as a soprano in a choir) and pop (the pic is me at a recent Lady Gaga concert, and I used to front a garage rock-band, way back when)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I look and act significantly younger than my age.
I love to laugh, I love to make other people laugh, and I'm almost always smiling.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Way too much to put here, but I'll try a brief "taste"
Books - well, Lord of the Rings (of course), Harry Potter, the Wheel of Time series, the Sword of Truth series - pretty much anything that is sci-fi and fantasy
Music - even though I might have classical training (voice, paino, guitar) my true love is pop music and rock n roll. Adore Gaga, Pink, Katy Perry, and I'm kinda "obsessed" with a certain American Idol runner up named Adam Lambert
Shows - I had a subscription to the road company productioins of Broadway shows when then come to San Fran and LOVE live theatre, especially musicals.
I've also got a few "guilty-pleasure" TV shows too, but I record them and watch them when I get a chance - and no, I'd have to know you a lot better before I'm gonna confess those... :)
Food - ummmm, I love good food of any type, totally NON-PICKY. My friends kid around that I always know the best restaurants.
I CAN cook, but only do so when I'm entertaining because it's way too much of a fuss for just one person.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Music !!!
Singing, listening to songs on my iPod and CDs, attending concerts and going to theatre shows - so is that really 3 items checked off the list?
My daughters - who are wonderful and accomplished, independent adults
My friends - both in real life and on the internet
My Kindle - I love to read
Oh, one more - my iPhone - gotta keep up with those messages and posts from my friends
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I'll get just a bit more serious here...
I think a lot about "giving back" through my work teaching in the medical field of radiation oncology. As a cancer survivor myself, I have learned to accept every day for the gift that it is, to be in the moment and to enjoy what life has to offer. I am grateful for the opportunity to help others.
I always try to make the lives of the people around me happier, even if it's in a small way by making them smile at my frequent craziness!
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
OK, embarassing confession here...
I'm likely to be on the net, moderating a fan website that I maintain about a certain singer that I've already mentioned...
Or, frequently I'm out with friends at a restaurant, movie, show, concert...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I say what I mean and I don't care if people think I'm crazy
I've also got a lot to say (some people think I talk too much, LOL... but I AM a good listener, too)
