[Found an amazing woman that's keeping me on my toes and a smile on
my face so the next time I'm on here it'll be to switch to "seeing
someone". Good luck everyone!]
Hmm, let us see... I'm going to borrow from someone I met once and
say that I'm smarter than the large majority of people but average
amongst that minority. I'm one of those people that can excel at
anything I decide to apply myself to and I'm in a good spot in life
as a result. I'm an intelligent person that can step into most
situations and figure out what's going on and the mechanics driving
everything.
I do things as they pop into my head and I keep the advance
planning to a minimum.
I'm generally a laid-back down to earth guy that's not into clubs
and that whole scene. There's a bit of a geek in me. I've been
around technology, computers, and a host of things related to them
my whole life and they continue to keep my interest. I constantly
try to improve myself, whether it's getting into better shape,
refining myself as a person, or enhancing the overall environment
where I work.
I am quite random and I have a generally offbeat sense of humor.
Topics of conversation amongst my friends and I can vary from
cartoons to arguing over a recent discovery in the science/tech
fields.
I'm currently working in operations at a bank right now. I help
manage a team that streamlines either small repetitive tasks by
automating them or looking at a process through an entire division
and working out the kinks. Kinda fell into it after college and I'm
making decent money in my eyes and very good money in most other
people's eyes. Itching to get out of my cloth covered box though.
There's more to life than this and hopefully some of my side
projects will pick up :-)
I would actually love to open a gaming cafe. A place where you can
get fed, caffeinated, and spend a few hours playing PC or console
games with friends.
Seeing the big picture and how things work together. I can do
detail as well, but I tend to avoid it unless I have to. Or unless
it doesn't make sense to me, in which case I'll spend hours pouring
over the details until the elusive 'why' becomes clear.
I'm pretty damn good with anything requiring logic or tech related.
I'm also rather good at writing, even of the more provocative kind.
Actually I'm really good at that kind much more so than regular
writing. :-X Hmm perhaps I can make a career out of that...
My red goatee? Most people think I'm Irish, when I'm actually 100%
Italian. Or so I have been told...
Books:
Oh boy... I read a lot. Raymond Feist, George RR Martin (A Song of
Ice and Fire), Robert Jordan (The Wheel of Time), David Eddings,
Hideyuki Kikuchi (
Vampire Hunter D), Miller,
Cook, etc etc. Mainly fantasy with a bit of science and technology
books in there like Elegant Universe, Warped Passages, etc. Maybe a
mystery or two as well.
Movies:
Action, sci-fi, abstract, dark comedies, comedies, etc. Some of my
favorites include Equilibrium, A Knight's Tale, Bram Stoker's
Dracula, The Matrix (1st one), Gladiator, Grandma's Boy,
Spaceballs,
Ghostbusters, 2 new
Batman movies, Iron Man, Happy Gilmore, LotR, Gladiator, etc.
Anime:
Cowboy Bebop, Noein, Helsing, Black Lagoon, Big O, Trinity Blood,
Trigun, Blue, Elfen Leid, Gigantic Formula, Tokko, etc
Music:
Dope, Black Label Society, Depeche Mode, Rob Zombie, BLS,
Metallica, Offspring, Tool, Manson, NIN,
Smashing Pumpkins, Bush,
AC/DC, movie and anime soundtracks (ie 300, Big O), etc
Food:
Italian is a safe bet, but I do like Indian, Thai, Japanese, etc.
I'll give almost anything a shot, except that crazy stuff the guy
on TV eats.
Gaming: Mainly a 360 person
Bioshock, Fallout 3 (it continues to own my face, damn DLC), Fable
2, Halo 3, Mercs 2, Zelda on the Wii as well as Metroid, etc etc
-Some type of internet enabled device
-Family and friends
-Good books
-
Coffee (caffeine
in general really)
-
Snowboarding
- I only have four seasons of boarding under my belt, but damn is
it addictive. Finally doing bowls, diamonds, and some doubles. The
west coast totally blows away anything we have over here. Perhaps
I'll find myself out there once I cut the corporate world tethers.
Why people do the things they do. I find it ridiculously
fascinating. I've pretty much come down to the idea that people do
what they want and there's really no good reason for doing or not
doing anything unless you personally want to do it. Now the kicker
here is, why the hell do you want to do it? No no I mean really
why?
Yeah.... anything I feel like. I'm very much a person who follows
what they feel like doing at that moment. So whether it's a flight
to Vegas or suddenly deciding at 3am I wish to snowboard in
Vermont.. it can all happen. I can last a few days without sleep
and I rarely sleep more than 4 hours a night so I'm all over the
place. Then again, sometimes I crash out and I'm out cold by 9pm.
::shrug::
After I say Child's Play as a kid I beat up My Buddy and buried him
under stuff in my closet. I can still hear him crying to be
released and saying, "Why? Why?". Disturbing isn't it?
You have an odd and or dark sense of humor, or at the very least
don't mind someone that does. If you can deal with someone who does
what they want, when they want, and plans very little.
If you like snowboarding that's a major plus as well since I spend
a decent number of weekends during the winter doing just that.
:-)
Overall just looking for someone with somewhat similar interests
and a willingness to branch out a bit and have fun together.
