I am aware, loving, and discerning.

My Self-Summary

**WARNING - Lots of words follow. Please adjust your glasses, pour yourself a glass of wine and turn on your patience, I will get to the point eventually** I love being in that space with another being (human, animal, vegetable or mineral) where there is no need for words, where trust, self-acceptance and willingness converge and one simply 'knows'. Having said that, my mind is exceptionally active and my interests varied. My love of horses defines my present reality & my future livelihood, so that is a huge factor in my life. My daily desires do not include television, gossip, shopping or bars. Okay...those things rarely are of interest to me. However, I do love modern literature with a slight edge (Palahniuk, Moore & Mosley among many) modern art, widely diverse music & red wine. It is obvious (to those who get to know me) that I am NOT Barbie or a simple blind consumer of factoids & products. As a result, the crowd follows me, not the other way around. I'm finally at ease with that, as long as the man I am with is equally at ease with that.

What I’m doing with my life

I have packed up my life and I am in the middle (?) of the next adventure and it looks like it is taking place in Kansas. Go figure. I am looking for work in the area, and also exploring the volunteer organizations to see what part Reiki and I might have with them.

When in California, I had been doing REIKI on off the track racehorses & prospective racehorses. Horses are my main focus & while I am looking forward to paintingagain and going to the gym, those things look to be on the back burner for now. I still do a lot of reading and a modified work-out daily. I will always keep myself fit and active, and though I am no longer a competition athlete, I am happy with my body, my decisions & my life.

I’m really good at

Showing up.......(really it is a good thing) I love giving REIKIto horses and humans. I am good at being a loyal friend. I am excellent in an emergency, even if I don't know what to do, I'll still do my best and not quit until I know that I can. I am good at seeing up the road a few paces. I have an uncommon grace with the unknown.

The first things people usually notice about me

...I haven't a clue.....

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I have just finished reading "West with the Night" by Beryl Markham for the 3rd time. It is brand new every time I read it. What a beautiful and lyrical voice she had.

My all time favorite book (as of this moment) Christopher Moore's "Lamb" also up there is Chuck Palahniuk's "Rant".

Favorite Movie: Delicatessen

Music ranges: Afro Celt Sound System, Teddy Thompson, Annie Lennox, Dido, Little Dragon (BTW they all have a myspace music page)

Food: The fresher the better

The six things I could never do without

1. Deep & Abiding Love (friends, family, lovers, animals)
2. Quiet space
3. Open Land
4. Good food
5. Good wine
6. A warm bed

I spend a lot of time thinking about

What the heck I am doing here & where to go from this point ................still no clue.

On a typical Friday night I am

Coming home after work, cleaning up and............reading a good book. Wow....there's excitement. Oh yeah, small town life is exciting, and I did choose to be here.........*smile*

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I read the book before seeing the movie.
