My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
In short, I am a nerd. I like reading and video games. I like learning about science, politics, and philosophy, and arguing about them. I play Dungeons and Dragons. Often.

But I also like going hiking and being outdoors, going out on random adventures, and traveling. I have been to 49 out of the 50 states, and quite a few other countries, and I plan on traveling to much more whenever I have the money and time to.

Personality wise, I am INTJ/P, for those of you that know/care about that sort of thing. Generally, I am a relaxed, but serious person. Fairly introverted, but not shy. Funny, or at least I think so.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a grad student at UCR. I just started, so I will be here for the next 5 years or so. I just moved here and am still getting to know the area.

I am also in the process of getting back into shape after a couple years of inactivity. I have been running a few times a week and been doing some strength training in attempt to be a little healthier and fit. I have lost a good amount of weight so far and am continuing to do so. Right now, I'm just a tad overweight and trending down.

I'm new in town, so I am trying to find a new group to play tabletop games with, as well as exploring the area. So if you know of any groups or places I should check out, please tell me.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
academics and anything that requires a good mind. And games of all types.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My size (I'm a goddamn giant). And probably my t-shirt (nearly always very nerdy).

Many of my interactions with strangers start with the words "I like your t-shirt".
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

In terms of books, I tend to stick to the scifi and fantasy genres. Favorite authors include Jim Butcher, Terry Brooks, Chrisopher Paolini, Phillip Pullman, G RR Martin, Heinlein, Vonnegut, Orwell, and Douglas Aadams. I do read outside of the scifi/fantasy genres, but my favorite books and authors seem to be exclusively there. I read pretty frequently and I tear through new books quickly, so I am always looking for new books to fill my kindle, so if you have any suggestions by all means send them to me.

For movies, I am kind of all over the map. It's difficult to pick out just a few. I do have a soft spot for B horror and scifi movies though.

My favorite shows stay pretty much in the Sci Fi family. Star Trek, Doctor Who, X Files, Furturama etc. Currently, I watch Game of Thrones, Continuum, and Big Bang Theory, among others. I do enjoy other genres though.

For me, good music is good music regardless of genre. If you look at my collection there is everything from classic rock to techno. I have a pretty damn large collection of music spanning many decades.

I am a person who enjoys food from all over. Particularly Indian, Mexican, and good Chinese. I'm also a fair cook in those cuisines too, or at least the first couple.

For video games, I mostly play rpgs like Dragon Age, Fallout, or Elder Scrolls series. A few strategy or platformers games here and there. I very rarely play FPS's, but I make an exception for Borderlands and Bioshock. Generally, I like games that tell a good story.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.

On a typical Friday night I am

probably reading or playing some tabletop or video game. I am trying to get out more though. Left all the people I'd normally go do things with in Florida.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I'm new to this whole "dating" thing. Previous relationships just kind of sprung up unexpectedly from friendships and didn't really follow the normal relationship paradigm.

you would like to get to know me, of course. Or if you are in the Riverside area and are interested in playing some good, old fashioned DnD or want to hang out. Or if you have any questions or suggestions about things in my profile.
