My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Well, my name is Eric! My friends call me Eric.

I'm a wilderness firefighter with the DNR and work at Huntington doing ACT tutoring for high school students. I just finished a term with the Conservation Corps last year as well - that was definitely an experience.

I worked at the Minnesota Zoo's butterfly garden a few summers ago and basically got to work with butterflies and moths all summer long. It was super fun!

Let's see, I also recently got into motorcycling and have been working on fixing up an '83 Honda CB750 - absolutely love the bike and am falling in love with riding!

I'm also a gamer at heart. Along with that I absolutely love computers... I really should be a computer science or engineering major or something but I find myself working in natural resources.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Trying to figure out how to make a career out of conservation - haven't quite figured that out yet.

These days I mostly work, keep up with friends, and go to the gym to pick up heavy things and put them back down again.

I also plan to continue hiking and canoeing as I like to do, and maybe get involved in the Boy Scouts again to hike the mountains at Philmont a few more times. When things are a bit low-key, I hope to become somewhat of a film buff - I've always loved movies. Who knows what else?
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Getting along with others and taking it easy. I'm always on good terms with just about everyone I meet, and while I can be a little reserved when first meeting someone, I'm quite social among friends.

I also started weight training at the gym a few years ago, and I'm really making some progress!
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm a pretty straightforward person, you'll usually get what I'm all about within about an hour of meeting me. That said, I guess you'll probably notice either my dry sense of humor or how laid-back I am.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books - Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. I read these books obsessively back in high school - killed my grades from reading until 4 in the morning on school nights. Clive Cussler and Bernard Cornwell are also authors I like.

As for movies, I have quite a few. I'm a huge fan of Christopher Nolan as a director, as I love Memento and Inception. Besides that, I like Avatar, The Shawshank Redemption, Gladiator, Aliens, Sunshine, and The Mummy. Actually I love just about any movie, even (especially) the bad ones.

Music - where do I even begin? I listen to just about anything. Just ask and I can probably make a few recommendations - I'm kind of a music junkie. I've been called an extreme music hipster because indie music is apparently too mainstream for me (I'll just roll with it).

Mexican and any kind of Asian food is amazing.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Oh man (can't really come up with a unique answer on this one, so brace for generic). I'd say my friends, family, computer, the gym, my motorcycle, and the outdoors.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Probably about how cool space is. In case you're wondering, space is REALLY cool.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Either hitting the gym, chilling with friends, or doing absolutely nothing at all - the three best ways to spend Friday nights.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross is probably the best thing on Earth and I watch it all the time.
