My self-summary
Hi there, I'm Eric. This is probably the millionth profile you've looked at, so let's get things started and show you one that stands out a bit, shall we?

Personality:
Well, thanks to my neatly written profile, you can probably already tell that I'm a pretty organized fellow; sometimes being organized requires one to make some seriously difficult decisions (What do I do with Caddyshack, if it's going to be separating Batman Begins and The Dark Knight movies? Actually, I don't really need Caddyshack; problem solved!). OK, I'm not really that bad; Caddyshack is a timeless classic after all, I didn't just throw it out (It just had to be put in a drawer, away from the rest of the movies.).

While I tend to be a bit of a goofball, I also realize there's a time and place for everything. Those close to me know that I can always be relied upon; I just seem to be the go to guy for things like that last minute ride to the airport, a nasty computer virus, or simply for some friendly advice (at 2 A.M.).

As someone who is always up for a challenge, I enjoy being motivated by others and am always willing to return the favor. I'm often striving to achieve a goal I've set for myself (like shaving a minute or two off my next 5k); I find that setting smaller short-term goals, helps keep one on track for the bigger long-term ones.
What I’m doing with my life
Fitness:
I've taken a big stance on improving my health in the last year; I eat healthy, workout, and I like to get out and be active. I love to hop on my bike and pedal around town, through trails, or around the city; I'll often bike instead of drive whenever possible (I'd love to have you join me for a ride sometime.). You'll also frequently find me spending time at the gym or attending my kickboxing aerobics class. I ran my first 5k in April 2013 and really enjoyed it; I'm definitely planning on running more races.

Career:
I work as an equipment technician for a medical company based out of California, but I'm currently stationed at a small outpatient surgical facility here in my hometown; I'm considering transferring into the city (Chicago), but not sure yet.

Interests:
I love trying new things, so I'm looking forward to joining you for some of your favorite activities! Perhaps you'd like to join me for a few of my own favorites? Some of said favorites would entail farmer's markets, festivals, theme parks, bowling, mini golf, zoos, or anything water related. Also, while getting out is always a blast, expect to relish in a bit of the homebody lifestyle as well. Who doesn't enjoy cooking up trouble in the kitchen, sharing good conversation, and/or cuddling on the couch to a movie?
I’m really good at
Having a great time with my nephews! Whether it be riding our bikes to a new park I've found along the bike trail, a visit to the Water Park, or me getting defeated in bowling by a four year old (That was totally on purpose though!).
The first things people usually notice about me
Physically:
My eyes, I get compliments on them all the time; sometimes people actually creep me out with this.

Personality:
That I love to laugh and I'm always trying to make those around me crack a smile.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Movies:
The Dark Knight movies, Disney/Pixar moives, Marvel Movies, Skyfall, The Big Lebowski, and many more! Comedy, action, and superhero would be my favorite genres. I love going out to catch a good movie!

TV:
Arrested Development, How I Met Your Mother, South Park, Futurama, The Walking Dead, It's Always Sunny, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, and 30 Rock. I'm always up for a good documentary too.

Music:
You'll typically find me listening to alternative, rock, or pop, but I can enjoy almost any kind of music (not too big on polka though). I find myself listening to a polka free mix channel pretty often.

Books:
Jurassic Park, The Andromeda Strain, and Inkheart. I've not done much reading in the last several years, but I'm starting to get back into it. I would be very open to suggestions for my next read; I'd love to be turned onto a good SciFi novel.

Food:
Nothing beats a good cookout or heading to your favorite restaurant! My absolute favorite foods would be pierogi, deep dish pizza, and sushi. Some other favorites would be Mexican, Chinese, and Italian; I'm always happy to try new things!

Theatre/Shows/Other:
Plan on frequent visits to the city for plays, shows, tours, comedy clubs, live music, exploring, museums, the aquarium, the planetarium, or anything interesting. Some of my favorites would be Blue Man Group, Cirque Shanghai, and The Second City.
The six things I could never do without
Family/Friends - They're always there when you really need them.
Smartphone - Android geek through and through!
Cozy Bed - Gotta love the memory foam.
Humor - Because laughter really is the best medicine (Pretty cheesy, right?).
Bicycle - My favorite form of fitness, rain or shine.
Gym - My least favorite form of fitness, but snow sucks to jog or bike in.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Look at all these pictures of people fearlessly standing on the Willis Tower Skydeck! Am I the only one who would be crying in the fetal position?
On a typical Friday night I am
At the gym, out with family/friends, relaxing at home, or working on a project.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'll often fall up stairs (Half as deadly as falling down stairs, but 3.7x more humiliating.).
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 25–35
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating
You should message me if
you have a great sense of humor and will toss me the occasional pity laugh (At times I say something so corny it should be printed on a Laffy Taffy wrapper.).

you want to chat for a bit online, then meet for a drink or lunch. I think meeting in person fairly early is important; it's best to see if we click in person rather early.

you want to show me some city fun. Transferring to the city is always an option with my work, and I've been considering doing so. For now the South Shore train runs about 5 minutes from me, and I do have a car (Really, it has a steering wheel and everything!). So if you live in the city, feel free to message away; I would love to meet people there and get an idea as to what it's like to actually live there (You may just give me more incentive to head out that way.).
