My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I never could find a stereotype I liked, so I decided to just do what I wanted and let other people figure it out. Thats kept me pretty busy, and I like it that way. I enjoy people I can exchange quick wit with, and those who enjoy wordplay or puns keep me smiling.

Smiling is a bad habit. And should not further be involved with this page. Stop it. Dont smile. What are you doin? Damn it.

Honestly I sometimes wonder why Im in Portland- I dont like beer, I drink whiskey and rum, and I think Plaid is for cold weather not a fashion statement. I do like the oddity of it all though, makes me feel at home even if Im not as outwardly outrageous as alot of the people I see walking by.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Right now Im working around town and getting to know Portland. Im currently in my EMT training, hoping to open up some new jobs and maybe a career with some job satisfaction. Im hiking, painting, and working at a kitchen in hillsboro. Life is good.

Recently I discovered that alot of the things I would like to do require equipment that somehow got left behind in MT during the move. As such Im considering taking a trip back for my skis, my leatherworking tools- nope, found them- and about a car loads worth of books, metalworking supplies and cookware. The problem is where would I store it all?
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Finding things for other people.
Keeping my word.
Cuddling, massaging, and healing.
Picking up new skills.
Getting people to break the no smiling rule.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Im told the red beard and broad shoulders usually come first. Unless you meet me online or at a party- you might get to enjoy me being a smartass first then.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Why not take them in order?

Tolkien, Peirs Anthony, and Dan Abnett are all favorite authors of mine, and recently Ive been plowing into alot of Stephen King novels and the Wheel of Time series. American Gods, anything by Terry Pratchett, or Charles De Lint. Orson Scott Card is an old friend, and bonus points to anyone who likes Heinlein, or knows the Deathgate Cycle.

I saw the Hobbit, and it kinda tore me in two. I want to love it, but Im upset about the changes they made to a childhood favorite.

Serenity, Saving Private Ryan, and anything with alot of laughs will make my top five though. But no smiles.

Music? Im fairly eclectic- anything from classic country to modern heavy metal and the joyous noise that is the trans-siberian orchestra. I dont like music that is so badly mixed you cant make out anything but the bass.

Speaking of wich- I watch Castle, Once Upon a Time, Grimm, and the Big Bang Theory somewhat regularly. I just finished marathoning Dr Who, and Game of Thrones because... why not?

As for food.... my tastes are broad, but Im definitely a omnivore. I cook Italian, Mexican, and American, and Im trying to learn more Asian recipes, besides the basic stir-fry.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Food- I love to cook.
Sex- I did this once for a few years, never again please.
A way to talk to my family and friends.
Shoes to take me where I want to go.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Everything. I meditate regularly because its the only time my brain shuts off.

I tend to get involved in quick research projects, and pluck whatever I can from the library and internet for a few days, then move onto something else that caught my eye.

Why people with so little in common with me are the ones who tend to visit my profile the most?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hanging out with the guys or reading a book with some chinese take-out. Gotta treat yourself now and again right?

Though lately Ive been spending some quality me time- wich means more painting and reading, you dirty minded woman :p

Im flexible on the no smiling rule, but dont tell anyone ;)
I cant help speaking in a scottish brogue when Im excited. Dont laugh.
I suck at first time text base communication, because I have no idea who Im talking to really, so I end up rambling and/or overly clinical.
