My self-summary Propose an edit

At the moment, I am simply a student, and that's probably all I'll continue to be for a very long time, even though I graduate this December from a university, although I don't mean it as an occupation in the classes-and-exams sense.

I'm a traveler and an explorer. I love to go to new places, experience the new (or at least the new to me). I love to immerse myself in different cultures. I love to read and write. I love to simply be outside and spend the day with a good person. I like to hike, swim (especially skinny dipping, in all honesty), and I like to make things. There's something extremely satisfying about making things with my own hands. And o, I love to dance! I love going out, having a fun evening with friends, dancing the night away, sharing stories and laughter.

I like to consider myself open. I cannot say that I do not judge, as of course I do, as everyone does. However, religion, sexuality, and gender are of little importance to me. I try to be accepting of any ethos that is not hateful or violent.

I'm an animal lover. I studied veterinary science for several years. I like horseback riding. I prefer big dogs over the tiny yappy things. My favorite type of dog is probably St. Bernards.

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

One more semester and then I'm through with school! I desire to join a humanitarian aid organization, especially helping immigrants and refugees. I desire to explore the entire world, and I will be doing so with my fiancee, Stevie.

I'm really good at Propose an edit

I'm fairly good at a lot of things, especially scholarly. I'm a good writer. I enjoy mathematics. I really throw myself into my studies, even when they're not part of my classes. I like sports/physical activity, but I'm only mediocre. My hand-eye coordination is terrible. But that's alright with me. What I'm really good at is just enjoying the moment. I don't have to be skilled at what I'm doing in order to have a good time.

My hats. I love my hats, and have quite a collection, and not a single one is a baseball cap. A hat and a string of pearls is my signature look.

Other than that... I've been told by a lot of people that I come off as somewhat eccentric. I don't know if that's a compliment or not, but I'll be honest about it.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit

I can't pick a favorite book. I love Isaac Asimov, Roald Dahl, and Garth Nix's "Shade's Children," and so many others.

My favorite movie is "Harvey," with Jimmy Stewart. I really like older movies. Jack Lemmon, Jimmy Stewart, Cary Grant, Fred Astaire, Humphrey Bogart... all greatly enjoyed. I also love "Royal Tenenbaums" and "Romancing the Stone." I like comedies and adventure films a lot, but I can really savor a good drama. "El Laberinto del Fauno" was a gorgeously told story, and I really like a well-told fantasy movie, but most are absolute crap. I enjoy watching reallllly terrible horror movies for fun with a friend.

My favorite musical group is the Beatles, but I also enjoy many others. I like the White Stripes, They Might Be Giants, The Unicorns, The Islands, Of Montreal, The Redwalls, Cole Porter, Queen, The Hollies, The Everly Brothers, Cake, Rufus Wainwright, Barenaked Ladies, Modest Mouse, Ella Fitzgerald, Bread, Glenn Miller, Electric Lights Orchestra, Hot Hot Heat, Franz Ferdinand, Keane, The Killers, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bing Crosby, The Mamas and the Papas, Peter Paul and Mary, The Postal Service, Three Dog Night... and so many more.

The six things I could never do without Propose an edit

Not in order of importance, but...

Going outside, sexing (alone or with a partner), the arts, books that make me think, touch, and friends.
