My Self-Summary

I am a slave to the written word. I am a fan of poetry, both on the stage (spoken word) and on the page. I love hearing live music and hanging out in dive bars. I like not having to answer my cell phone, and having the ability to disappear into the woods and just relax in nature. I am addicted to good conversation and would rather stab myself in the eye than have to speak in smalltalk for the rest of my life.
I'm completely convinced that life is a buffet of experience, where we can find joy even in the worst of things. We control our own destiny, and I intend to fully enjoy mine.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm working in Experiential Education (team building, and one of the coolest jobs imaginable) and working on my English and Secondary Ed degree. I edit a poetry journal and, have been working on getting my own work published.

Communication. I understand things quickly, and can restate ideas in many different ways.
Performance (mostly spoken word).
Writing.
Sizing up groups of people.
Memorizing industry specific safety information.
Shaking my butt.

The first things people usually notice about me

is my playfulness or open mind. I like to laugh and talk about the nature of things and have fortunately surrounded myself with people who like to laugh and/or talk about the nature of things.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

everything. I like to know what makes people tick. I've spent a good deal of time examining my life, and exploring the stories of others.

On a typical Friday night I am

either at a bar or in the city. I work Monday through Friday, so Friday night is for enjoying the night.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

is that I'm purposefully open. My thoughts will typically spill out of my mouth as I think them, or if I'm asked about them. I think that people should either be open, or simply honest about what they're not willing to be open about.
