I graduated from a master's program in counseling psych with a specialization in expressive arts therapy. I also love Jungian psychology,, living creatively and authentically, yoga, travel, juicy good books, holistic living, and then some. I'm looking for likeminded folks who are sophisticated, cultured, awake, evolved, mature, conscious, sensitive, self-aware, literary, massively intelligent, ridiculously funny, passionately creative, open, warm, and articulate, among other things.
Cooking. Savoring food, being transformed by art, and being nourished by nature. Appreciating exceptional people and new experiences. Making up weird characters and doing voices. Telling eccentric jokes. Being mystical yet grounded and pragmatic; compassionate yet edgy with a sometimes wicked, sarcastic sense of humor.
I strive for authenticity in all of my exploits, even when it's challenging to do so. And I also strive to be as nutritious as possible in my world--not always an easy feat, but a worthwhile vision to hold.
*My singing voice
"The Diving Bell and the Butterfly," "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," "A Man of No Importance," "Hamlet 2"
The Chameleons UK, Hildur Gudnadottir, Steve Reich, Slowdive, Kate Bush, Roxy Music, Philip Glass, Brian Eno, Depeche Mode, Austra, Bat for Lashes, Cocteau Twins, M83, This Mortal Coil, Dead Can Dance...the list goes on and on and on. I love music; it propels my life.
3. Music--including my piano, various keyboards, mic, recording equipment, etc.
4. My journal
6. Some sense of spirituality
*You are a musician and feel intrigued, and are open to the possibility of collaborating, jamming, etc.
*You are down with feminism.
*A fun date to you would be something like checking out a fascinating documentary and dissecting it afterwards over a plate of delicious tapas with red wine.
*You are a passionate, creative, intelligent being who wants to give and receive inspiration, thoughtful conversation, and veritable cornucopias of fun.
*You can write an articulate, thoughtful message that's longer than one line. Well-crafted poetry or prose work well for me, but not so much "You're hawt! How you doin'?"
*You respect that I like to get to know someone by exchanging a few emails before we agree to meet in person. I like to meet people who are able to carry an interesting conversation through email and who show genuine curiosity about me. I am adding this disclaimer because I've gotten a few emails where it's basically like "Hi...let's meet!"
And, to be honest, on the other end of the spectrum, "I am an evolved tantric sex god with 12 years of psychotherapy under my belt. I believe you and I have met in a past life, and we need to make the loop in this life. I have already booked our first couples counseling session with a tantric hypnotherapist. Now, how to get *you* under my belt for blissful, expansive, psychedelic mindmelding of the fifth dimension, ladylove?" isn't quite my cup of tea, either, although of course I appreciate divine intimacy. I appreciate people being respectful, unpresumptuous, and subtle in their messages.
