My all consuming fear in life is mediocrity, and avoiding that bitter pill has made me a radical in many areas of my life. From relationships (polyamory), to diet (vegan and yes you don't have to be), to politics (not conservative, not liberal, not libertarian, not anarchist but have radical strong beliefs that don't quite fit anywhere) to gender bending (I'm a cis gendered male but definitely have an abundance of feminine qualities) make me quite a difficult match indeed.

Lately I've been educating myself about Polyamory - I have a history of monogamy but it has never worked and never been honest, so I'm looking forward to a better attempt at honesty in my life. When I was at Powell's books the other day I noticed that Sex at Dawn was #2 on the Portland bestsellers list - a sign that Portland is moving in this direction. (I love that Portland tends to take the lead in so many different ideas and lifestyles.)

Shows: I quit watching TV when they yanked Twin Peaks off the air. I also never owned one until a year ago and turn it on only a couple times a month - only to watch a DVD (or VHS) -- BSG, Doctor Who (I love classic & the reboot equally is that weird?), Big Love, Firefly.

Music: (I try to buy vinyl to put more money in the artist's pockets and keep our music cash flow local)-- Blonde Redhead, The Cure, Bjork, MBV, PJ Harvey, Bauhaus, Coco Rosie, Phantogram, Nick Cave, Grimes, Azure Ray, Exitmusic, Black Heart Procession, The XX, the Knife, Tom Waits, Afghan Whigs, Replacements, Kronos Quartet, Mingus, A Place to Bury Strangers.

Food: Local. Organic. Preferably bought from a small business such as Food Fight or People's Co-op. I am a good vegan cook and I make amazing soups. -----> TOAST, carbonated beverages, Aardvark sauce, rhubarb, quinoa, kale, vegan sushi, Ethiopian, the spicier the better!

Restaurants: Portland does this so well. {Top 3: Portobello, Natural Selection, Blossoming Lotus.} Also: Bye & Bye, Sweet Hereafter, Conquistador, Harlow, The Sudra, Dove Vivi, Canteen, Hungry Tiger, Sizzle Pie, Prasad, Miho, Homegrown Smoker Vegan BBQ, Hammy's, Hotlips, Laughing Planet, Dick's Kitchen, Dots, Paradox, Juniors, Starbar, AND cafe, Vita, Papa G's, Van Hanh, Bonfire, Andina, Kitchen Dances, Nicholas, Ya Hala, Proper Eats, Los Gorditos, Bette Lucas, Wolf & Bears, Red & Black, Sweet Pea. (These are all vegan or vegan friendly at the least)

Games: I also like board games and host a game night once a month. (BSG, Dune, Cosmic Encounter) Feel free to drop me a line if interested in that sort of thing as well.
