I'm a empathetic character when coming back home, and trying to stay energetic & fun-inducing when with friends. Staying on the direct tone when writing here, however appreciating the slow time in a more exclusive setting.
I've been in a love relationship with my work since a year ;-) Seriously it's ups & down, and at the end of the day you both grow from it.
Below's what I had to say a year ago, when I just came back to the city after a little bit of a sabbatical.
Works the job of his dreams changing the world in a dynamic hardware startup. Needs to rebalance the sun intake over the weekend. Gets up before sun rise, drives out for a road trip, hiking, camping, or swimming. Spent serious time dancing Tango, practicing yoga, and horseback-riding. Loves European cinematography, Jazz, BMW, flying, candles, rally racing. Is looking for either a soul-mate & true love of my life, or for a crazy & wild clash of temperaments that brings both conflict and amazing euphoria.
That's how things were 6 months ago, when I came back from a few months of my European getaway/sabbatical. Things fall into their places now, and life is more & more ordered. More predictable. And finally gives way to more subtle joys, longer evenings, and let's you plan a little bit more ahead.
It's also time to look for a companion.
