My self-summary
I recently moved from the Los Angeles area of Southern California to Ukraine. I am now living in Kharkiv, Ukraine, where I work as an English teacher for a private language school.

I love my life, and am taking it in the direction I want to go. My personal motto in life right now is stolen from Gandhi: "Be the change you want to see in the world." I combine this with the lyrics to John Lennon's song, Imagine, to describe the kind of world I want to see. This is what I am making my life about. I'd love to have a like-minded woman along for the ride.

Most people seem content to live inside the box that society and parents made for them. I want to live outside the box, and do. I may not be able to change the WHOLE world, but I can change MY world enough that my daily reality conforms more to my intentions than to the "default" positions of society/culture as a whole.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a blogger, a freelance writer, and an English teacher.

I'm busy taking everything in my life to the next level, and being the change I want to see in the world.

Toward those ends: I like to exercise at least 5 days a week. I write every day of the week. I eat on the Paleo Diet (mostly). I walk or ride my bike unless it is too far, or raining, and only then do I resort to my car. I take my own bag to the grocery store. I recycle and I conserve resources. I don't watch TV, but I do watch movies or TV shows online sometimes, but only Science Fiction shows and a few others. I act with total open honesty with everyone except for two topics, you'll find those out if you become a close friend, but I don't post them to the Internet.

At 43 years old, I am now more psychologically, emotionally, and physically fit than at any time in my life. I know the things I want out of life, and am actively working towards achieving the ones I'm not ALREADY living.

What's next?

One of the things that is next is finding a compatible woman who's also done enough work on herself to know who she is, where she's going, and that she wants a man like me. Are you out there? If you are, and you're reading this, then you might be the type of woman who will email the guy first, because I love women who have the courage to do that kind of thing. If you're not the type to do that, give me another hint, like browsing my profile a few times, or rating me with 4 or 5 stars, so I'm notified. If I'm interested, I'll message you.
The first things people usually notice about me
My height‽ I'm a frackin' midget next to the tall and dark man of your fantasies! If you're tall, don't worry...I CAN climb.

NOTE: I'm not down on myself about this; I'm just realistic. I've heard the "short" comment from women enough times to know it probably is the first thing many of them notice.

The six things I could never do without
Love,
friends,
family,
a planet to share and explore with them,
a healthy body and mind to experience them all with,
and a sense of humor about it all.

Those...and my collection of shrunken human heads. ;)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to be the change I want to see in the world. How to let go of what interferes with that.

Lately, I am also thinking about "what's next." For me, this is a short list of plans in answer to that question:
- Learn to speak Russian & Ukrainian
- Improve my writing
- Speak at TED about bringing Bucky Fuller's World Game into the digital era, and using it to change the world
- Finding a way to make lots of money from my writing
On a typical Friday night I am
The same thing we do every night, Pinky; trying to take over the world!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I like to watch 90210 sometimes.

Oh wait, you said "private." I thought you said "embarrassing."

  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 23–38

  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
...you still want to after reading this profile.

Just so you are aware, I am at a point in my life where I have done and am doing a lot of work on myself. I have reached a point where I'm mostly satisfied with the improvements I've made to myself and my life. I'll never be done with this project, but I'm at a point where I feel confident that I'm a great catch, and I am seeking a woman who is also a great catch, and ready to have a long-term relationship with the right man. Ideally, that means settling down, marriage, and kids. It's all negotiable, however....

I might be open to short-term or other styles of relationship, but I am actively seeking something more committed than that at this stage of my life, so I'd prefer it if you're in the same place.

As you can tell, I'm mostly seeking romance here, but I am also open to new friends and activity partners, especially if you want to take dance classes with me, go scuba diving or hiking together, or you like to have someone to dine out with that can converse on a variety of topics.

As for being "outside the box," there are a few things in that category that seem to really put people off. In interest of being direct and up front about them.... I am unashamed to admit, and unapologetic for being:

- An atheist. I do not believe in deities, and do not see anything wrong with that, and whatever woman I am with has to be okay with that, because it will not change.

- An anarchist. I do not believe that government can ever be "good." I have no desire to participate in government, and avoid doing so in any/every way that I can. I do not vote. I do not file petitions. I do attend protests from time to time. I do not take any government handouts, ever. I avoid as many taxes as I can. She does not have to agree, but any woman I am with needs to be okay with this aspect of my life.

- A tantric. I do believe that sex is a powerful tool for personal growth, healing, intimacy and relationship. I have spent over 15 years learning about Tantra and sacred sexuality. I have a desire to share this knowledge and these skills with my future partner, and would hope that she'd not only be accepting of my views in this area, but enthusiastic about learning what I know.

- I have a preference for polyamory. While I prefer this style of relating, I DO NOT REQUIRE it. I am capable of being monogamous, and without cheating. I am not a jealous man, so that simply does not come up for me in relationships.

Well, all that may come off as a bit blunt, but it is the truth. If you're my type of woman, you appreciate that kind of forthright honesty. If you're not my type of woman, you were offended reading this part of the profile.
