I was an art student growing up and now working as an economist, I want to teach and paint some day. I have lived in China, US, and HK, all for years. I enjoy traveling, reading, writing, art, nice conversations, good food, cooking, water sports, down time, and (low-beta) movies / TV shows.

Life for me is pretty good right now, with genuine good friends and lots of possibilities. I am pretty independent since I have been living away from my parents since I was 10. I enjoy intellectual conversations but also very much appreciate the simple joys of life. I try to lead an active life style with enough down times for myself. I love learning new things (including things about myself) and feeling motivated, which means I take risks in career and life from time to time. In relationships, I look for someone that makes life even better. Ideally, it would be someone optimistic, funny, warm, laid back, and maybe just a little philosophical but not overly analytical.

(I'm new at this, and very bad at writing self-summary in general, that's why I hate any kind of applications!)

I am working at a hedge fund, traveling a lot both for business and my own adventures, working on a few new projects that includes business development and writing, and getting ready to take my next step, which involves quite a bit of thinking, trial and error.

I am a fairly perceptive person and quick at learning. In terms of more tangible skills...I am good at cooking (w/o recipes), hosting with good food, being a supportive and attentive friend, listening, drawing or anything to do with art, swimming, coming up with ideas, and I have freakishly good (visual) memory.

I am not sure since it is sometimes hard to look at myself from others' perspective. I guess it might be that I have fair skin and very dark eyebrows.

I've been told that I could come off a little distant as a first impression. I guess sometimes I can instantly connect with the people and other times it isn't as easy or quick, but I can be genuinely warm and sharing once the connection is made. In that regard, guess I won't call myself the most sociable person (since I never try to force that connection), but a "functional extrovert".

I read a lot of literature magazines, my favorite book might be "The unbearable Lightness of Being".
My favorite TV shows are Seinfeld, 30Rock, Parks and Recreation, The Newsroom, and Modern Family.
My favorite Movies are Amelie, Once, lost in translation, Enternal Sunlight in a Spotless Mind.
I like a wide variety of music and food. My favorite cuisines might be Japanese and Italian, but it is ever evolving. I eat meat but don't like it as much as seafood, vegetables, fruit, or some of the more startchy things :)

Everything. But these days I think a lot more about my new career moves and what next, and therefore worry much less about the "more trivial things" than before. Although at times it is still fun to think about what I will paint next if I were to start painting again, renting a new apartment with a rooftop, self-exploration in general, what's going on in my friends' lives, how exciting my next trip is, things I get to do when I have free time, what is on my calendar & etc.
