My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Like many of us dating at this point, I find that most people will not be a match, so that being said, I'm only interested in going out with guys who are cool with meeting someone new and having (hopefully) a good conversation, that might only lead to more if we both feel that elusive chemistry that is so hard to find.

I like meeting new people as long as they are kind, compassionate, understanding, open-minded types. I would not be a match with anyone with even mild anger issues or someone who feels easily offended or slighted by others. Life is short and I'm attracted to positive people who are doing something in their life to help others, even if it's just a drop in the bucket.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
My career provides a sense of purpose and I feel lucky to have that, as well as to enjoy it as much as I do. In my free time, which I have quite a bit of, I'm a jack of all trades, a student of the world.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Predicting what is going to happen in a TV show or film (but I won't say it). This is why I don't watch film previews--they give it all away.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Geek Love, The Road, The Dhammapada, Kitchen Confidential, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Quantum Self, most Joyce Carol Oates...

Movies: Planet of the Apes (original of course), Donnie Darko, 21 Grams, The Sweet Hereafter, The Decalogue, Sunset Boulevard, most Woody Allen...

TV: Twilight Zone, Dexter, Walking Dead, Sopranos, Web Therapy, The Colbert Report, Game of Thrones...

Music: Trip Hop, as well as a bit of every genre. Can't go wrong with good ole Classic Rock (Bowie to Steely Dan). Sparklehorse, Richard Buckner, Frank Black, PJ Harvey, DJ Shadow, Thievery Corp., Massive Attack...

Food: All of it! I try to go healthy during the week (low sugar, whole foods, cooking), but let myself indulge on the weekends. Sushi, vegetarian often, all kinds of seafood, pizza, spicy stuff, Schwarzbier, cheeseburgers, anything cheese for that matter.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Friends, home, hot water, freedom, love, sustenance in all its forms.

Six I can, but don't want to do without: music, old school paper books, road trips, good conversation, art (love found object art!), and pizza.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The meaning of life, philosophy, the book I'm reading, subjects related to my profession, things I want to do, the obscure. Foreign travel and road trips.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Trying a new restaurant or bar, seeing a film (particularly Indie, Foreign, Docs), at the home of friends or family, on a road trip, or on a date.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I dream about a 67 Mustang, 3-speed on the floor, sitting in a parking lot with the driver side door open, engine running, waiting for me. I just realized this might be a metaphor for the perfect man :)
