My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
"Who's that guy over there staring at me? He's been stealing glances at me all night. ...What? Well, if he thinks I'm cute, why doesn't he walk over and say Hi? ...Oh, come on! Why on Earth would I think that was invasive? ...Well he's not going to find out if I'm preoccupied unless he comes over and asks, is he.

"Well, yeah, he is kinda cute. I was watching him waltz earlier. He's pretty good at it. The long hair is nice, too; it's obvious he takes care of it. Not sure about the hat, though. ...A personal trademark? You mean he wears it everywhere? Just one of many quirks, I would guess. ...He fences, too?

"Still, I don't know. He's clearly enjoys showing off or he wouldn't be as good a dancer, but he also seems kind of stiff and formal. ...That's his idea of polite? Well, possibly, but it makes him seem straightlaced and boring. ...You're joking. The original BurgerMunch!? Oh! that must be why he's been staring at me; it's my corset. ...Really? My face is what keeps him glancing back?

"Well, what's going to make him come out of his shell, an engraved invitation? ...Ha ha, very ha. Well, there's nothing I can say or do to make him feel more comfortable; he's going to have to get over his own hang-ups and come over to me and say Hi. That's the guy's job, after all..."

I'm an outgoing, gregarious recluse. Or an introverted, timid stage performer -- whichever one you like. With an eclectic collection of quirks.

I am impatient, meticulous, and creative
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm an artist; my medium is computer code. I've devoted a major part of my life to computers and software engineering for the express purpose of showing off (and, indirectly, becoming damned good at it). It's not "boring" or "geeky", it's an amazingly diverse field with unlimited possibilities for creative expression.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Computers. Video games. Vintage ballroom dancing. Classical Italian fencing (well, not *really* good, but reasonably competent).
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My mode of dress, quickly followed by my long hair. You'll most often see me wearing vaguely Victorian and/or Renaissance fashions, because I find them the most accurate representation of my inner life.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Movies: The Wizard of Speed and Time, The Princess Bride, The Last Starfighter, TRON.

Books: The Thursday Next series (The Eyre Affair, Lost in a Good Book) and The Fourth Bear, by Jasper Fforde. Just about anything by Douglas Adams. "Major Barbara," by George Bernard Shaw (I keep coming back to this). I really need to read The Magicians series by Lev Grossman.

Music: An eclectic mix. Mozart, Piano Concerto #20; Beethoven, 9th Symphony; Shostakovich, "Jazz Suite #5"; Stravinsky/Stokowski, "Pastorale"; Satie, "Gymnopedie", "Parade"; Benny Goodman, "Don't Be That Way"; Paul van Dyk, "Out There and Back";,, . Music is a very evocative catalyst for my imagination.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Computers, nice breakfasts, a warm bed and a good night's sleep, bathroom fixtures. (I could do without them, but not for very long...)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
My imagination will go almost anywhere (except where I want it to). Ideas for stories, movies, computer software, art projects, and exhibitions on a grand scale flood through my mind all the time.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Dining out and/or hanging out at home.

...You enjoy vintage ballroom dancing, renaissance festivals, and/or most particularly you know what a Munch is (no, not the artist).
