I'm a mystery shrouded in an enigma all wrapped up in a stylish beard. A champion of the underdog who will tell you what I really think. Always thinking about coffee, my next project and then again about how much coffee will be needed to complete said project. Stoked on life, curious to know all the wild, woolly inhabitants of this planet and their myriad shapes, stripes and personality types - including you! GGG, sex-positive, privilege-aware, feminist and generally open-minded.
What I’m doing with my life
Creating culture. Pushing the edge of my comfort zone. Making change, not making excuses. Going outside. Building bridges. Burning the Man. Practicing kindness, saying yes and not taking things personally. Traveling lots. Caring for myself and then caring for others. Being f#$%ing awesome (and humble about it). Typing stuff into boxes. Trying to spend less time typing things into boxes.
I’m really good at
...achieving that poignant balance of pragmatism, optimism and sarcasm. Hosting trivia nights. Laying down seriously groan-worthy puns. Finding beauty in the mundane. Cooking delicious food for you. Spelling. Fostering community.
The first things people usually notice about me
Teddy bear face with an Oakland booty.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: The Four Agreements, Einstein's Dreams, Dress Your Family Up in Cordouroy and Denim, Zeitoun, Invisible Man, Angry Black White Boy, Last Night a DJ Saved My Life, How to Open Your Own Coin-Operated Laundromat.
Film: Wes Anderson, Woody Allen, Miranda July, David Lynch, Michel Gondry etc etc. Documentaries and 80's flicks about robots falling in love.
Music: So much of it and yet, so little hard drive space left. Literally anything and everything *including* rap and country. Try me.
TV: I binge once in a while to help me procrastinate but not overly interested in watching things - I'd rather be doing. But since you're still reading, I do like adult cartoons like Bojack Horseman and Bob's Burgers quite a bit.
Food: Yes! I like it!
The six things I could never do without
Real Human Connection
(#6 is a lie)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
"The art of happiness is to serve all" - a quote taped to my laptop
On a typical Friday night I am
Making speakers go boom in your local area discotheque.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I cried while watching The Death of the Incredible Hulk made-for-TV movie.
You should message me if
You want to go to India with me. Or, y'know...get some coffee.
