My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I like my life a lot. I live in a beautiful part of the world, I have some great friends, and I live with two awesome dogs (my roommate's). I get to go do things all the time, like ski, hike, bike, go to baseball games, concerts, etc. Still not exactly sure what I'm doing with this, but hi, everybody.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work at a pretty rad restaurant, and write for a pop culture site. To be honest, I really like both things.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Talking, listening, subtle jokes, crossword puzzles. At some point I'd love to add skiing to this, but I'm not there yet. I will be, I promise.
The first things people usually notice about me

I'm tall, I laugh a lot, and I don't like people who don't have a sense of humor.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

The Count of Monte Cristo, Indiana Jones, Beatles, Wilco, Stones, Tom Waits, etc., and I don't like to play favorites with food.

I've been told that I should expand this section, so let me explain it this way: I started reading when I was very young. I never stopped. I have great affection for Kesey and Thompson, a ton of respect for Heller, Auster, McPhee, and Leavy, and a deep love of Dumas, Joyce, Doyle, and Robbins. For the same reason I love Dumas, I love Indiana Jones, because they're both adventurous and thoughtful. They don't shy from action, but that's not their purpose. In music, I love the artists who know what came before them, don't mind using technology/computers to record and mix, but avoid using it to create, and have real personality. And my relationship with food is exactly as I said. I'll try anything once.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My guitar(s), good conversation, great books, interesting friends, and the great outdoors. Ok that's 5. The last one I kind of want to leave open, because it changes a lot, I think.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How cool it is that glaciers turned gravel into massive rocks. I mean, if you could hold two rocks, and squeeze them hard enough to make them one rock, that'd be pretty rad, no? These are the things I think about.

I also make a lot of jokes in a totally deadpan way, so people don't think they're jokes. And then I have to tell them I'm kidding. It takes some getting used to, I won't lie.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hanging out with my roommates, wandering around town, or out camping somewhere.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I use the word rad a lot, despite being an intelligent human being. My friends make fun of me for it. Also, I went as a lumberjack for Halloween this past year, and I didn't have to buy any part of my costume. And that's easy for boots, flannel shirts, and carhartts, but most people were surprised that I already owned the red suspenders.

If you can write more than a sentence, and having a good time can just as easily mean a hike, a concert, a cup of coffee, a walk somewhere, or a ballgame - you don't always have to be in a bar on a weekend evening - not that there's anything wrong with a good beer.
