My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm the kind of guy who despises writing a self-summary.

The basics would be that I'm friendly, have something of a book problem, don't own a TV (by choice), like to cook, love to get up somewhat early on Saturdays to go on long runs, like to build things, and I think the youtube clips that KEXP posts of their live in-studio performances are the best thing ever.

I also have a pitbull/boxer mix that I lovingly call "The Ham." He's laying on my feet snoring as I'm typing this.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Living the nerd life. I stay pretty occupied, and you will rarely ever hear me say, "I'm bored."

I do, however, enjoy meeting new people, which is why I'm on here.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
making friends, cooking breakfast, finding new music, and setting things on fire. I'm also pretty good at tearing pallets apart and building stuff out of them.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I can carry on a conversation with just about anyone.

Or, the 50lb exuberant puppy dragging me around.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I'm an avid reader, although I've been all over the map with what I've been reading here lately. The two books I read over the holiday break was "On the Road" by Kerouac and "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" by Thomspson. Finished re-reading Guevara's "Motorcycle Diaries," and decided it's time I read some Hemingway. Other than that, nerdy academic stuff sucks up most of my brain.

I'm currently re-watching "How I Met Your Mother" and just discovered "New Girl" on Netflix. I still love the X-Files. And documentaries of all varieties.

I'm also a music addict. It's kind of a problem. I could list bands for days. This is my ever-evolving "heard it once, liked it, must track down later" list that I share with a few friends...

Food - again, I LOVE cooking breakfast.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Clean socks (everyone's got a thing, and I refuse to wear dirty socks)
My friends
The ability to periodically call my family.
Something to write on.
Running shoes
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Moving, buying a banjo, going on a run, how I got to be friends with such wonderful people, and if a few things had happened just a little bit differently, what impact would that have had on my life. Chaos theory and stuff...

Also, why does OKC think I'm "worse-mannered" compared to your average male? This bothers me way more than it should.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
either out or asleep. Depends on what I did that week.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I hate needles. I can't even look at them on TV.

I also really like PBR. No hipster irony here (although some have accused me of having a hidden hipster streak).

you're feisty. Also, I swear it's ok if you're just looking to make a new friend.
