My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Life isn't worth much if you aren't being creative!

I like to keep busy, and I get genuine pleasure from challenging work. Continuing to learn is important to me, and I am goal-oriented. I'm a geek, but a classy one, and can get along with most people. Generally I'm upbeat, playful, witty and adventurous, but I'm also extremely honest, have an acerbic sense of humor, and I set high standards. I suck at math (no, for real) but I'm pretty good with words. Going for my PhD next year, so this year is all about the calm before the storm. I work hard to make everyone around me laugh.

I am talkative, dynamic, charismatic and ambitious

I use "<3" a lot. That probably says a lot about me.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Just earned my MA in English (concentration - Teaching of Writing and Literature), working, looking to move up to teaching older kids for harder coursework. I focus a lot of my attention on my hobbies (video games/other gaming - linger on that one for a moment, it's pretty important - cosmetics, Pinterest-related crafting, baking, reading, etc) to keep me level headed.

At this exact moment in time, I've spent the summer painting my nails and playing candy crush. Getting a little bored with both.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Talking, making people laugh, making friends, brewing tea, dreaming, writing, picking things up with my toes, making kids smile, taking care of people, talking to strangers, leading groups, killing time, making breakfast, being brave, Valentine's Day, accessorizing, editing papers, making fair decisions, that cherry stem thing, and comebacks.

I also make fantastic tortilla soup.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My hair, probably. There are days when I love it, and days when I feel like a gorgon. In terms of personality, I think it's my outgoing nature. I can easily talk to anyone, and do. Even if they may not particularly want to talk, it's at least polite to acknowledge each other. Good manners, tact, and charm are inherent Lower Mason-Dixon qualities.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
We'll just assume that the people I love go without saying.
So... The ocean, ice cream, my phone, my laptop, autumn, and cats.

Though, I've thought about this: If I ever had to go on Survivor, I would -have- to bring a razor. I would go nuts if I was never allowed to shave.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The future, mostly. I'm at that point in life. I've given up on stress and am ready to just be taken where I am supposed to go.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I'm trying to explore the area more often on my weekends. If I had my way, I'd be out doing things - anything, really - though I admit that bars are not really my scene, unless I have someone there who knows the place. But I'm always up for an adventure.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

Well, despite my whole ocean-theme that I have going on...I'm cetaphobic, meaning unspeakably terrified of whales.

Not the kind with teeth. Shamu whales and Beluga whales? A-OK. Baleen whales? Like, the ones that are incapable of eating you? Unacceptable.

I mean it. -TERRIFIED-.

you want to, because I love talking to people. Period. <3 I'm also dying to get out and about more often, but am new to the NoVA area and am too shy to go exploring by myself. Which also applies to messaging - love to talk, too shy to initiate. At least in this situation. So go right ahead!
